I really wanted to like the food but it fell short for us. Excellent service, but the food wasn’t up to par for what they were charging.

After every bite we found ourselves saying “mmmm this is so good”. From one course to the next. The blend of flavors was amazing. This is the best food in the greater Boston area. I will be recommending this restaurant to anyone who asks where they should eat in Boston.

Excellent (mostly) small plates restaurant. One of the few independent restaurants in the area. Great service.

I was taken aback by the menu. Google said it was Mediterranean food, but I guess I had a different idea of what Mediterranean was because the menu wasn't what I thought it would be. Be warned they do charge $50 if you don't show up.Ambiance is large and loud and it's a renovated warehouse, so I didn't really like that set up. We were close to the door, so I felt a draft nearby every now and then. The lobster plate with pasta was good and it wasn't too spicy for me. My GF got the seared scallops and thought the scallops were prepared pretty good with the herbs. However, she didn't like the watery broth and that it was served in a bowl with the squash. The vegetables in the broth she felt were bland. Our dessert almond cake was dry and most likely supposed to be that way because there was raspberry sorbet on the top. She wasn't a fan, but I thought it was flavorful with the fruits around it and it looked almost like Christmas. The staff is pretty much all-white and includes the host, bartenders, servers, and cooks inside the kitchen because you can see them. We were the only brown-skinned folk in a place that could probably fit 100. I wouldn't go back, but I wouldn't say it was the worst food in the world, just not what I expected, that's all.

Amazing! I booked a reservation for my dad and I when he was visiting town. He gave me the reigns when it came to choosing a restaurant which normally gives me immense anxiety but I was stoked when I came across Chickadee and it did not disappoint. The ambience is really cool with an industrial vibe that is decorated to feel intimate and cozy; extra points for being able to actually hold a conversation due to noise level. The service was great from start to finish and the staff seem very knowledgeable and excited to chat about the menu items. The food was the star with perfectly balanced flavors in all the dishes. We split the dips and spreads (ask for extra pita!) and marinated beets to start. For our main course, we each got the lobster campanelle (chefs kiss!) The pasta/grains and large plates definitely seem decently portioned (~one/person~). The plates on nearby tables looked equally as mouth-watering). I’m looking forward to coming back with friends to show them this gem.

Porchetta is the best starter main course.

A restaurant firing on all cylinders. Everything - from the serene room to service to starters, small plates, pasta, large plates, dessert, and beverages is perfect. Many restaurants seem to rest on their laurels after achieving awards or good reviews but everyone at Chickadee is continually striving to make each meal as good as (or better) than the last. The incentive menu and attention to both the season and seasonal local produce keeps us coming back.

Outstanding service matched the amazing food!Last Saturday night, my wife and I went to Chickadee without a reservation hoping for a seat at the bar but anticipating the typical anxiety provoking battle of jostling for open seats. Much to our pleasant surprise, Chickadee took that tension out of play. Once we checked in, the hostess let us know the wait time and stationed us in a comfortable waiting area next to the bar. Within what felt like seconds, a waiter took our drink orders, let us know our place in line for seats, and regularly checked in with us until our seats were ready. After such a relaxing and civilized welcome, we were blown away by outstanding service at the bar by Ben and the rest of the team. From amusing conversations about menu options to a great discussion on various bottles of gin, we had a wonderful evening at Chickadee.

Very nice restaurant. Clean and quiet. You can actually have a conversation without losing your voice.Great selection of drinks, including an extensive list of whiskeys. The squid ink fusilli, chickpea panisse fries and torched bluefin tuna are out of this world!Highly recommended.
