This is one of the best places I’ve eaten in recent memory. Their hot sauce in particular is amazing!

Been here 5 times and every time I give them another chance it doesn’t get any better, they need better workers to service and the food never fresh tasted reheated, rice always seems to be dry and stale and the portions they give you for the bowl based on the price and type of food you might as well make it yourself at home, Too expensive for the small amount. La Taqueria Is Cheaper and Gives Me better portion of Food. Young lady in the front is great but can’t speak the same for the rest of the workers who work the front. Need better training on customer service.

Are you kidding me?! 3 baby plantains for $2.50? As a hispanic, is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. If you want to pay an arm and a leg for gentrified street food, go here.

My wife and I have ordered from this location many times before. Today we made our usual order for delivery. Over 45 minutes later, we called, as we hadn't gotten any of the updates we usually receive. They got our name, phone number, and order. They then informed us that we would have to come to the location to get the food, even though we ordered delivery. When we arrived at the location, they said that they weren't going to make the food after all since they couldn't find the order. I talked with the manager over the phone and they were able to locate the order well enough to give us a full and exact refund. However, the staff at this particular location maintained that they couldn't make my order because they couldn't find it in their tablet at the front counter, even though I drove across town (despite having originally ordered delivery). Pity, as we have ordered this same way from the same location many times before, and have never encountered any issues like this. I am writing this review after having spent over 2 hours and 30 minutes trying to get our usual order of 1 Quesabirria, 1 order of churros, and 1 Coca Cola. At the end of it, we remain foodless. They didn't look at all sorry for this error, and put in very little effort to fix it.

Very poor service. I placed an order and had to go all the way to the store just to try to get a refund or the food, because they couldn’t find the receipt. The supervisor on duty was not helpful at all and didn’t even try to come out to address the issue. The cashier was very upset, and overall it was a terrible experience. I ordered delivery because I didn’t want to go in person, and in the end I had to show up just to be treated poorly by the staff. I didn’t receive the food or my money back.

it is as advertised- locally owned good food. its a small place but plenty to fit 8 or so people eating in. food is hot fresh and comes out within minutes. i do wish prices were stated on the menu rather than blacked out, but i think the flavor and quality was well worth the price i paid.

I would say the tacos are better than the burritos (a bit too much rice and beans and little meat).

Very tiny!!! I find it too be very overpriced!!!! The food is okay but definitely not worth what I paid!!! Not sure it's because of the location 😕 or what

I ordered a Chicken burrito and got a burrito with very little chicken. The burrito was almost $13 so you might wanna ask for extra chicken if you want a fair amount of chicken. I recommend La Taqueria if you’re looking for a good fast Mexican that doesn’t skimp.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Chilacates on Amory Street for a while now, and I have to say, the food is consistently amazing. The flavors are authentic, and the quality is always top-notch. One of my favorite things to do was to grab some food with my daughter and enjoy it in the South West Corridor Park across the street.

Unfortunately, I’ve recently had to stop visiting this location. The park has become occupied by a group of aggressive men who play loud, inappropriate music and openly consume drugs throughout the day. The atmosphere has become loud, hostile, and frankly unsafe, especially with them yelling at each other. As a parent, I’m concerned for my safety and that of my daughter, and it has impacted my ability to enjoy the park and the wonderful food from Chilacates.

I want to make it clear that this issue has nothing to do with Chilacates itself—the restaurant and its staff are fantastic. I only wish the surroundings were safer so I could continue dining here as I used to.

I just picked up my food around 1:18pm I’m eating it now. I just found a long STRAIGHT piece of black hair in my food. I don’t have straight hair….. I’m disappointed honestly because I was looking forward to the food

High prices, they charge for just about every topping u get on a burrito which is pretty small and to top it all off they horrible customer service , makes so sense how they have such a high rating.

It’s the best place for something fast and craves. The place is not the best option to dine in, but is definitely worth it if you live around and you want to eat something, fast, delicious, and cheap.
