I’ve been a loyal customer of Chilacates on Amory Street for a while now, and I have to say, the food is consistently amazing. The flavors are authentic, and the quality is always top-notch. One of my favorite things to do was to grab some food with my daughter and enjoy it in the South West Corridor Park across the street.
Unfortunately, I’ve recently had to stop visiting this location. The park has become occupied by a group of aggressive men who play loud, inappropriate music and openly consume drugs throughout the day. The atmosphere has become loud, hostile, and frankly unsafe, especially with them yelling at each other. As a parent, I’m concerned for my safety and that of my daughter, and it has impacted my ability to enjoy the park and the wonderful food from Chilacates.
I want to make it clear that this issue has nothing to do with Chilacates itself—the restaurant and its staff are fantastic. I only wish the surroundings were safer so I could continue dining here as I used to.

I just picked up my food around 1:18pm I’m eating it now. I just found a long STRAIGHT piece of black hair in my food. I don’t have straight hair….. I’m disappointed honestly because I was looking forward to the food

High prices, they charge for just about every topping u get on a burrito which is pretty small and to top it all off they horrible customer service , makes so sense how they have such a high rating.

It’s the best place for something fast and craves. The place is not the best option to dine in, but is definitely worth it if you live around and you want to eat something, fast, delicious, and cheap.

I have ordered food from there and every time it was okay. This last time, it was the worst shrimp tacos I have ever tasted. The shrimp was really old and stale and smelled horrible. Now I am never ordering again.

Found a live beetle in my food. I showed the staff and the cursed me out and refused to give me my money back. This will be dealt with, making sure the city of Boston puts a B or C in the window of this dirty place. Staff told me both “you’re being too picky” when I didn’t just take the big out and that “it’s not their fault, it probably just fell into the meat”. $16 for 2 tacos and a drink and they send me on my way hungry and without the money I spent. Literally saw my food moving, disgusting.

Employees didn’t put utensils in bag because they where too busy making jokes among themselves.
I called and asked to fix my online order from a burrito to a burrito bowl. They said no that’s not their problem. Poor customer service and completely unwilling to resolve issues even as minor as leaving the wrap out of the order.

Super fresh ingredients, quality shows everything is made on site daily, from scratch. Staff is super friendly. Dine in counter seating is there. 4 steps to entry/not accessible. Love this place & their team.
