Excellent! Great staff, wonderful food. Had the enchiladas and three tacos platter, both were fantastic. The hot sauce was very flavorful!

We loved our meal here and think about it all the time. My carne asada tostadas were giant- definitely did not need two. The music is good and the decor inside is entertaining. Left here full and happy

Updating my review. I keep coming here and keep being pretty happy with their food. Most people I introduce to this place love it. Much respect. This place hit its stride long ago and keeps performing.

The food here is pretty decent and they have a nice menu selection. The prices are okay and the service staff are great too.

A small little spot for a quick Mexican bite. Portions are good. I'd hoped my burrito came with some chips on the side like most other places do, but at least the burrito was filling. Had my burrito had just 15-20% more steak I would've given max stars. All in all still very good. I placed my order in English and my parents were able to place theirs in Spanish just as easily thanks to the bilingual staff. It's a small thing, but I appreciate it!

The grilled chicken bowl was amazing!! The chicken was cooked so well and there was plenty of it. The salsa was the bomb too. Really great food, 10/10

Quick service, bomb food. Chill vibes. Happy to get takeout here. My go to is the burrito bowl and LOVE the maduros

I adore a guey carnitas burrito with sour cream and guac from Chilicates pretty much weekly. I find their staff to be friendly and their prices are reasonable. Sometimes it takes a little longer than expected when I place my to go order (you can order on Toast which is a big improvement over their previous online order system) and waiting around the cute restaurant is not a big deal. The biggest concern I have is about consistency. If you are allergic to anything on the menu, I wouldn't eat from here. Our orders get screwed up somehow (pico when we said no pico, no guac when we paid for guac) probably a quarter of the time. It's a testament to my burrito devotion that this level of reliability hasn't turned me off as a customer! But it's careless enough that I would be worried if you really cannot eat something and it transfer in anyway. Maybe order in person and watch just to be safe.

I used to eat here a lot as a kid with my parents and it was always amazing but I haven’t come since that one time I broke a chair?

I've been going to this little joint for a few years now, and have to say it's one of my favorite spots for on the go or a nice sit down establishment. It depends on which one you go to because there are at least three(3) locations as far as I know, and only been to the two in Jamaica Plain. Chilacates got some good chips and salsa but I'd recommend either the Chicken tinga burrito or a plate. I really like how the customers are treated there, a nice touch! The space on Amory Street is a bit small though, that's what locals love about it.

Great little whole in the wall mexican spot. Very small inside. Maybe seats 10 people. The food is fantastic and worth it even if you have to get it to go.
