Weird ass bar , tried coming in after a work shift for a simple drink , i came in at 10:50 and they said they were done serving and when i asked for clarification they tried being smart . IF YOURE A COLORED PERSON DO NOT GO , whoever is behind the bar needs a reality check !!!!
I never leave 1-star reviews but this place refused to serve me because they thought my actual ID was a fake
A bit of background - I belonged to a fraternity at Boston University in the 1990s. We just held a reunion this past weekend, and The Dugout was #1 on our list.
We were able to schedule an event at the Dugout, and it was amazing. I worked with Billy (the owner) to schedule a four-hour private event, and on the day of the event bartender Christopher did an amazing job of keeping the flow moving and the energy high.
Thank you so much, Dugout!
Went with a group and were denied service because he didn’t believe our IDs were real. Everyone over 24 a couple 30+ people. A few POC and white people in the group. The bartender didn’t scan them just looked at one ID with a flashlight and said “I don’t like them” and asked us to leave.
Great people, great time, great experience
Dugout is what it is, and I love it. The beer is good and cheap, the food is good in a pinch, and atmosphere is unmatched. I'd put it just above a dive bar as its outfitted with an all wood interior and great tight knit community. Dugout is a staple in the neighborhood, definitely recommend grabbing a pint.
Amazing place near BU, well decorated and good atmosphere.
Amazing Bar near Boston University (BU) with plenty history. It is located in the Basement.
The bartender (Rob) was so friendly & helpful. He would recommend the most delicious Boston Beer.
We ordered Samuel Adams Summer Ale & it was amazing. The price was $26 for 1 pitcher (I add $3 for tip). Really love the drink, but it was only available until the summer.
There are plenty tables so u don't need to queue.
There are trivia event on Wednesday and Stand Up Comedy on Saturday.
Would love to come regularly to this place.

Best bar in Boston. Come here if you want to have a good time and not get killed on drink prices. It’s one of Boston’s finest establishments. Your shoes might stick to the floor for the rest of your life so don’t wear your fake Guccis here. Iykyk. Make sure to order an Uber to the Encore when you leave. I always win big after going to the dugout. Even if I don’t I feel like a winner after leaving this bar.

What a kip. Avoid at all costs if you're a tourist. Just got charged 17 dollars for 2 pints in an absolute hole in the ground. Brutal pint of Sam Adam's Winter lager

Awesome comedy show every Saturday! 10 comics, 10 mins each, for just $10 in a very intimate setting. Audience were probably mostly students from BU across the street, a couple of tourists. I really enjoyed the variety of comedian performing. Most were pretty good, a couple from out of town were so-so, and 3 or 4 were super funny. Especially a very funny lady from Philly sharing about her OnlyFans customer service story, and a guy sharing his childhood story of being bullied in Germany during year abroad, and the last comic who celebrated his birthday and shared story about his gay marriage.
