The Dumpling Cafe is a simple, typical Chinatown Restaurtant. I had the garlic chicken with rice and found it very tasty. Service was friendly (enough) and ordinary. The dish was large enough to share. I couldn't finish it. I planned to go back, but there were too many other places to try out nearby. Ordered on uber eats. Fried pork Dumplings were great. Taiwanese noodles good. General Gau was decent at best. Chicken was chewy and inconsistent. Stick to the dumplings you’ll be good.
Wandered in here late night not sure what to expect. The ordering process was certainly different. Servers were a little chaotic but it seems to work for them. Seems like a get in, get out kind of spot which in Chinatown isn’t at all unusual.
Tried the Mapo Tofu and I was kind of blown away by how good it is. Didn’t expect the food to hit quite like that here. But it’s one of the better versions I have had in a while. Definitely need to go back to test...
