It's with a heavy heart that I have to give this review. I really enjoy the new location, the ambiance of the location is awesome. The owner is an amazing man who has hand delivered food to me.I made a reservation for my birthday with my wife, I was a disappointed with a few things that happened.Firstly, they didn't have a table ready for us even though I reserved the dining room. They asked if I wanted high tops instead even though I mentioned it was my birthday because they asked. After getting a table in the dining room, I had a waiter who is very lax, too lax. He spent most of his time talking to his co-workers. Didn't have enough time to come back and ask if I wanted a second drink and I had to ask another waiter. Even after this he never came back to ask if my wife wants another drink. Then, he never came back to ask if the food was okay or if we needed anything else. And yet I saw him consistently joking with his co-workers.This level of service is a far cry from the previous location. The previous location on their staff has some of the most amazing and rememberable service at a restaurant. In this case, my waiter looked like you should be working at 99 restaurant instead. The food however, was excellent, as usual. The steak tartar could have used a little more salt and pepper, but no problem. Appetizers, drinks and dinner were fantastic (is ultimately the most important part).I was very disappointed in the service and they didn't do anything to mention they understood it was my birthday. In the past I had gone there for years and I was blessed and comped in many ways. Although I'm not asking for that service now, at least recognize it's my birthday and follow through with the service expected...

We very much enjoyed returning to Eastern Standard; the food is as good as we remembered it and the service impeccable. It's a pretty cavernous space, which made it feel a bit less homey than the old venue.

My first time at eastern standard with friends who have raved about it for years! It exceeded expectations with everything: food, cocktails, ambiance and service! Both my tequila and lavender infused vodka drinks were delicious! I ordered the bucatini, which was the perfect flavor profile (would want maybe a few more little necks). The desserts were a nice finale to the evening as we were celebrating birthdays. Our waiter Michael was personable, attentive and humorous! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening!

Recently had the opportunity to have lunch at the "new" Eastern Standard. The squash soup with toasted pepitas was perfect on cold day, or any day! The salmon was delicious and served with an arugula and citrus salad. My husband enjoyed the burger and fries. The bread pudding, a very generous portion was served warm with a caramel sauce and ice cream. We are looking forward to returning for dinner. Service was A+ and the interior is modern and welcoming.

So glad ES is back. Food and ambiance was great. Highly recommend the steak frites & lobster gnocchi. We loved all the odes to the old location. Sadly, our server took away from our experience. We were so excited to go back to ES and he seemed like he didn't want to be there and rushed us. He seemed annoyed from the very beginning when he asked us if we wanted still or sparkling water and we asked politely for sparkling. I ordered an extra dirty martini - it was not dirty, much less extra. I asked for a bit more olive brine and it was never brought.

Classy but not too classy place now in the Fenway-Kenmore area. Perfect spot for date night. I really liked the cozy atmosphere and attentive service. The food was pretty good too. I'll have to come back to try more options from the menu. The steak frites were tasty. A bit pricey, but I think it's a worthwhile splurge.

You know a restaurant is well run and you are in good hands when you see the owner, Garrett, busing tables, delivering food, keeping an eyeball on every little detail of his restaurant. We were customers of the old Eastern Standard up the street but found the current iteration more pleasant and harmonious room. The food was stellar, service wonderful and looking forward to our next evening there. It is one of the few restaurants that even knows what a Periodista cocktail is and how to make a perfect one.Looking forward to our new regular table #69 if and when it is available.Thank you Garrett for a very pleasant evening!

Fabulous server! Food was a bit salty and under seasoned otherwise (got the prime rib special and crabcakes). Great wine and loved the berry cheesecake. Love the new atmosphere it's fun and lively

Very loud hip place, kind of hidden behind another bar. Our waiter was very friendly, maybe a little over the top. Apps of squash soup and mussels were excellent. Entrees: salmon and crab cakes also very good although the crab cake portion was a little skimpy. Good key lime dessert. Don't go if you really want to have a conversation.

It's always been a favorite and glad to have it back. Parking was a problem and I was unhappy about spending $25 on the lot. It's tucked away - would be nice to have Beacon St signage. Food was good and service great!

An exceptional dinner for another milestone event in our life. We've held so many family event as at ES we can't count them all and it's because of the overall experience of wonderful food and outstanding customer service. Live everything about Eastern Standard.

If you have not tried the new Eastern Standard, you should. My son and daughter and their spouses and I went Saturday night, The food was as great as the service. Parking was easy . It was a great night. It is not cheap but is a lot more reasonable than the steak places and the Seaport, Try it.
