Rarely answer their phone. Impossible to call an order in. What good is the food if you can’t get it?

I always check out places and rate them if they are friendly/safe to Black and POC peoples I have been coming here since my early 20s. So for about 20 years they have been serving the community with excellent Cuban food. The only downside is when you call in a order for pick up it may take a while. But the food and customer service is always the best.

You can definitely see the history of this place. The owner died a few years ago but the family still owns and cares for this restaurant. I got the speciality cuban sandwich with everything on it and it was so great. Perfect mayo/mustard ratio, the pork was moist, and the bread was fresh. Have to stop by if you love cuban food and you're in Jamaica Plain.

Good Cuban good with fast and friendly service. Yucas was good with special carrot sauce. The Masitas de puerco (fried pork chunks) we over cooked and meat was not lean— skip.
I went here for lunch today and I ordered a Cuban sandwich. Very tasty and not too heavy. The service was great and I liked the atmosphere. My sister orders from here a lot and she says it's the best Cuban food in the area. Prices are reasonable too. I recommend this restaurant.

It really saddens me because I have been eating at that place for over 10 years. After the owner passed away everything changed! The service is no longer good, not very friendly. The food completely salty, the beef steak lasted and definitely the taste not as nice as a few years ago...I hope it goes back to its roots because it was our favorite place...

The food was very flavorful, with speedy service, nice staff, and a very inviting environment. My mom had the sopa de marisco, kids spilt a cuban sandwich, I had the ropa vieja with white rice and black beans and tostones. Very generous portions, too! It's definitely a must if you're in the area!

Been coming here for years and stop in if I'm in the neighborhood, as I don't live in the area. Always get the Ropa Vieja. My favorite dish. Great smoothies as well. I especially like the Guava Smoothie.

I've eaten at a lot of Latin restaurants, but this one is the hidden gem. Little did I expect such a delicious Cuban sandwich, the empanadas were delicious, and the croquetas de Jamon were simply delectable. To top it off the price was great. Small gems like this are disappearing, and trust me you don't want to miss this one.

I was rushed to the emergency room immediately after eating here! The green mussel served with the ceviche May have not been fresh or was contaminated. Everything else was great, the snapper, the rice and plantain. I just got extremely sick. I was the only one who had the mussel so everyone else at my table was fine and enjoyed the food. The smoothies are good too.

Bad food. Hurtful dishonest service. Not a nice place at all. The lemonade was ok. We paid $50 for disgusting food we did not eat.
Cuban here, I always eat Cuban food when I travel to try new places. The food here was terrible. They're afraid to use sazon, zero flavor. A little garlic goes a long way. Marinade your meat please, it really does make a difference. Left almost most of it and I always clear my plate. Este lugar esta desmejorado. Servers didn't want to be there. Pretty dirty too. Locals seem to like it though. ??♂️
Really delicious, quick service, friendly staff. The Cuban is as tasty as everyone says and the guava smoothie was delightful

I can't get over how much I love their black seafood paella! I thought by dining in I would be persuaded to finally try something else, but it didn't work - I couldn't be bothered by it.So here we are, with the best paella dish with all its glory. Thankfully it comes with a side salad and swet plantains too! $26.99 before tax and tip.FYI: When entering from the front door there is a weird step up to enter the building. It might not be as accessible for those who use a wheelchair.
Parking: Street parking is rare. There is no parking garage either.

Not bad food. $21.35 for my plate was kind of pricey but was pretty good. I didn’t like my waiter serving food with her hair all puffy and sticking out which could easily cause her hair to fall on people’s food. She was very kind and pleasant but I didn’t think that was sanitary. Their Cuban sandwich is very good and I highly recommend it. Would I return, for a Cuban sandwich? Heck yeah!
