Go for: British pub fare in a huge bar-restaurant that might make you forget you're in America.Avoid if: You are looking for a fine-dining experience.Something surprising: Some of the lowest restaurant prices in Boston, period.Reservation needed? Not usually, except during big sporting events and holidays.Overall . Elephant & Castle is part of a small chain of restaurants, but it's barely noticeable. It's surprisingly rare to find a British pub in Boston among all of the Irish bars. The food was great, everything was shockingly inexpensive, and the beer list was solid. Great ambience and a convenient location as well. The servers were nice and everything was accurate, but all of the tables in the section seemed to wait for a long time for the meal to progress. Still planning on returning here soon for another pint.Value for Price: 5Sanitation: 3Food Quality: 3Menu Precision: 3Service Quality: 3Timing: 3Decor: 4Access: 5—5 among the best4 strong3 not too bad2 mediocre1 never again

Steak and Guinness pie was a little bit below average. Bad night in the kitchen, I guess.

Not a good place, service was terrible. We asked to see a vegetarian menu, we ordered from the vegetarian menu and still ended up getting bacon in our Caesar salad, after explicitly letting the server know we are vegetarians. Sent it back, the manager brings me a new Caesar salad to go as a good gesture, and again bacon on the salad. The worst part was that he tried to tell me that it was a crouton not a piece of bacon. You can clearly tell the difference between the crouton vs bacon! Unbelievable. Very disappointed

This evening I came in to dine with a party of 42 people and Robert was our server. Robert did an incredible job serving all of us. Robert made sure that everyone was enjoying their experience at Elephant & Castle. Robert was accommodating in taking our party half an hour earlier than expected. All the food was brought out in a timely manner, and was enjoyed by all. Robert is truly a master of his craft. On my next visit to the city I will be sure to ask for Robert as my server.

This resturaunt is located next to a hotel and it was St. Patricks day weekend. It was busy and Noone took our table until we said something. Once our server did he was great. Food came out quickly and was pretty good.

We were visiting Boston last weekend staying in the hotel next door. We had dinner (Fish and chips) and breakfast the next day. The fish and chips, onion rings, fries, cole slaw and in house made tarter sauce were all Chef's Kiss! FANTASTIC!Breakfast was very good also. Fresh veggies in omelets, the sausage was good too.But the best part was our waitress Cindy! This lady is stellar! She is the THEBEST waitress we've ever had! Nails the service, gives suggestions, her honest opinions, all with a smile and impeccable customer service!Treat her well if you're lucky enough to get her as your server!! Thank you Cindy!!

The bartender Genesis is the best in town. She is friendly, helpful and energetic. I came in after an interview and was kind of low . She brightened my day and I left a happy camper.

Food was delicious. Server was very nice and attentive but the beers took a long time to come from the bar. Both rounds of beers took an extra long time to get to the table. Food came out fast though.

Arrived here last night , on trip from UK, as staying in Club Quarters next door, fancied a small wine before our meal out. Taken to a table 18.05 by waitor and ordered 2 glasses of wine. 18.20 no wine so I asked the same waitor how my wine order was doing and he curtly replied " you can see we are v busy"One barman was dealing with all the orders of the waitors. At 18.30 we still had no wine and got up to leave. Waitor spotted us and came over, saying that the barman was unable to open the red wine as could not find a corkscrew! I said to waitor " that is very poor service " and that we were leaving. He then rudely gestured with his hands to get out. Waved us out the door literally.....such attitude. He was new in the job and we had tired to give him some slack but no one should treat customers like that. Needless to say, despite 2more days in hotel next door, we will not be back to this

Fun, pub like atmosphere. We were there early evening and there were so many children, no fault of the restaurant but lots of kids for a pub/ bar. Our server was friendly but a bit in the weeds, apologetic for having an off night, was not an issue for us. Food was ok, apps were yummy but entrees were reminiscent of a chain restaurant, not well put together, missing items etc. Good beer/ wine/ cocktail selection. We had fun, not sure I need to go back.
