So delicious, flavorful enjoyed by the 2 adults and two 10 year olds and two 12 year olds new to Ethiopian food! We didn't know what to order from an extensive menu and Ms. Misty recommended the combo plates with a little bit of everything and it was perfect! Kids loved beef, chicken, lentil ones the most. I loved the chickpea and cabbage. Also love the cozy, friendly vibe of the place. We'll definitely be back!

Delicious no-frills Ethiopian with plenty of vegetarian and meat options — and great traditional coffee at the end. Staff’s so sweet, too. Highly recommend!

We got two dishes to go and both were delicious. Vegetarian curry, and tsom firfir, which is not on the menu I think but is excellent. It's injera stir fried in the usual spices, yum.

I have tried many restaurants that specialize in Ethiopian cuisine and this is by far the best I have had. Between the 15+ places I have experienced in Mass, NY, Ohio, Arizona and Cali Fasika has placed #1 for me. The food is always fresh, flavorful and filling. You can always tell when food is cooked with love and Ms. D does just that.

Today 10/8/2025 ordered kitfo from this restaurant, but what I received was not kitfo at all. When I brought the food home and opened it, it was overcooked, burned, and tasted like a spicy steak, nothing close to the traditional Ethiopian kitfo I ordered. It was so spicy and dry that neither I nor my friend could eat it.

I immediately called the restaurant to ask for a replacement, expecting basic courtesy and customer service. However, the person who answered, who identified himself as the owner, was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he insisted that he made exactly what I ordered. When I requested a replacement, he told me that I would have to pay again for a new order, even though the mistake was clearly on their side.

As a paying customer, I have every right under U.S. Consumer Protection Laws to receive the product I actually ordered. If a business provides the wrong or defective item, they are legally obligated to either replace it or issue a refund, not charge the customer twice. Refusing to correct an error and denying a replacement is unethical and potentially unlawful.

Furthermore, I noticed a concerning issue with discriminatory treatment. It appears that certain customers, especially non Ethiopian patrons, receive apologies and fresh orders, while Ethiopian or Habesha customers like myself are dismissed without respect. Discrimination in service violates federal and state civil rights laws and is absolutely unacceptable.

This restaurant clearly lacks professionalism, respect, and accountability. Until management is properly trained in customer service, consumer rights, and anti discrimination law, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

If you value honesty, fairness, and cultural respect, avoid this restaurant.

Lovely cafe! I went with my friend after work and even though we weren't familiar with the dishes, the waitress patiently helped us choose what to get (I liked the vegetarian options). The atmosphere is warm and homely. Will def retun.

Delicious food with amazing service and atmosphere. They have a large traditional menu with generous portions. Every plate ordered was always scrumptious! The best Ethiopian restaurant in the Boston area! Whether dining in or ordering out, this place is highly recommended!

We attended the Malcom X 100th Birthday Read a Thon and stopped in for our first experience with Ethiopian cuisine. The setting is unassuming. Everyone inside was speaking another language, perhaps Aharmic? Some were sipping coffee that was served in lovely pottery. We ordered Sambusas, some veggie dishes and a chicken dish. Food is prepared to order so sit back and enjoy the wait. Food arrived hot and was tasty. We loved the chickpea sauce the best and the Samusas. The hot ginger tea was divine. Everyone was super friendly.

Fasika Cafe in Roxbury is a true gem for authentic Ethiopian cuisine, and their tsom firfir is a standout dish that keeps me coming back. Made with pieces of injera soaked in a richly spiced sauce, the dish is completely plant-based but still incredibly hearty and satisfying. It’s well-seasoned with just the right kick—bold, comforting, and deeply flavorful without being overwhelming.

The portion is generous, making it a perfect option for a filling lunch or dinner, especially during fasting seasons or for anyone looking for a meat-free meal that doesn’t skimp on taste. Fasika captures the soul of Ethiopian cooking with warmth and tradition in every bite, and the tsom firfir is a beautiful example of that.
