Food is good, service keeps me coming back! Bartenders are very friendly and the manager always goes out of his way to make sure it's a 10/10 experience for all.

My husband brought me here the night before my birthday and the staff was lovely. However, I got the worst case of food poisoning I’ve ever had and ended up spending two days in the hospital, including all of my birthday. I ate vegetarian (mushroom pasta), and we shared the burrata. My husband ate the chicken and liver and was fine. We will not be returning.

Do yourself a favor and reserve a seat at the Chef’s table. We loved getting to watch them cook and chat a bit. The tortellini with blue cheese in it was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious, and the appetizer of fried bread with mortadella will have you dreaming of your next visit.

This restaurant is a must do for us whenever we visit boston. my wife is also sober, and to have such a thoughtful mocktail section really means the world to us.

I don't know how they make the pepe e cacio taste that good but it's probably magic. dont skip the broccoli caesaer or the cheese foccacia.

we're fox fans for life

Started off great, ended on a disappointing note.

Pros:
-They did a really thoughtful thing by printing a birthday/anniversary message on the menu. It was a sweet touch that made the experience feel special and gave the impression that maybe a little treat (like a birthday dessert) might be coming.

-Our server was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and kept everything moving smoothly. Food came out on time and service was spot-on.

Cons:
-The food was fine, just nothing special.

-We ordered the Chocolate Olive Oil Torta. Couldn’t taste the olive oil, and the cake honestly tasted like something from a box mix. The whipped cream felt like plain heavy cream, nothing more.

The biggest letdown was feeling a bit misled. Our server made some strong recommendations that we went with, but they didn’t wow us—and we got the sense those thoughtful birthday gestures were kinda like a scam- getting us to spend more than creating a truly special experience. We expected a little more heart behind it, maybe even a simple birthday dessert, but left feeling like “Make them feel special so they will spend more.”

Karen’s restaurant was “simple & elegant”. We ordered the ricotta, focaccia, cacio pepe bucatini and mustard cherry breaded pork: it was AMAZING. She is the best ♥️

Best table service in Boston year to date 2025. Excellent dishes. Tagliatelle and a glass of Barolo. Chicken (cooked on a brick from raw to make the outside crispy and inside tender). Served encouraged us to order all at once all dishes for the kitchen to pace the meal.

My daughter and I chose Fox & Knife for dinner tonight. We shared a few items and were so delighted with our choices. Our server Alyssa B was also wonderful and gave great advice.
We started with the asparagi primavera-perfected cooked asparagus with a miso aioli, lemon and capers. Unique and delicate.
Next we had the taleggio stuffed focaccia-light, savory and creamy. I would have eaten the whole thing but knew our main course was on its way. The tagliatelle bolognese was lovely -the herbaceous of the thyme with the savory wild boar had my taste buds dancing and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Lastly we had the orange dreamscicle -orange shaved ice over deeply vanilla ice cream. Cleansed the palate and ended the meal perfectly.
A solid choice for dinner in Southie. So much more to come back and try!!

Finally! A restaurant that understands what reimagined Italian cuisine actually means. So many places slap burrata on something and call it a day. Not here. Every dish felt like it was built from the ground up with real intention, respect for tradition, and actual culinary skill.

The Spaghetti Con Vongole was outrageously good…toothsome, silky, complex without being fussy. The bolognese could bring tears to your eyes. And the focaccia? Please. I’d come back just for that and a Negroni.

Service was warm but professional, and the pacing was exactly right. You could tell the staff believed in the food.

This place doesn’t need gimmicks or overwrought storytelling. It just delivers — with technique, soul, and zero ego. A true gem.

Chef Karen Akunowicz is running a kitchen with the precision of a Swiss watch and the warmth of your best friend’s best dinner party. It’s loud, a little chaotic, and utterly transportive.

Pro tip: arrive early, sit at the bar, and watch the magic.

We had a great evening; we particularly enjoyed the chickpeas and the raviolo. The service was also fantastic; we were warmly greeted, given a great description of the menu structure, and great advice on the particular dishes we chose. We can’t wait to have the opportunity to return!

Sunny was our server and she was a gem. Honestly, as she described the meal I said to myself - wow, this girl has table side romance down pat! With her recommendations we ordered the fried chickpeas….which were outstanding. The foccacia is amazing, the broccoli ceasar is next level & so is the tortellini de pastinaca. My husband had the spaghetti a la vongole. Both were out of this world good. We have been to Italy quite a few times - touring different places and eating at the best local restaurants. This meal was so fresh and reminded me of eating in the best restaurants I have ever eaten in Italy. What an amazing meal!!

Quality ingredients. A sublime attention to detail. Balance in salty, umami and heat. The broccoli Caesar is a must have along with the homemade ricotta. I sat at Chefs counter and got wonderful attention from everyone. Amazing!

Kinda knew what I’d be getting into going here, but this was mediocre and not worth the expensive price point.

Broccoli Caesar was p good and they made it vegetarian for me. The carbonara was delicious but way too small- finished it in 3 min flat. Ordered burrata in the hopes of being more full… and it didn’t even come with bread. That was confusing. Left a little hungry and frustrated at myself for spending $100

Had the pleasure of dining here tonight. Found the staff and atmosphere were great I found a lot of the food to be average to good not great, so a little disappointed based on the price point, as experiences at other locations with similar costs had deeper flavors or more bold aromas. Definitely not a pass if looking to come, just may be an average to good experience not a memorable great one
