It's NOLA in Boston! Was skeptical of the proposition but this place delivers authentic fare with all the classics on offer, plus cocktails. NOLA music and FQ decor, from gold foil ceiling to fleur de lis in the tile floor. Great, friendly service.

My main reason for the two-star review is because of the service. The restaurant was not busy by any means when my party of 2 was there. The food came out really quick which brings to question, how fresh is the food? How far in advance is this food being prepared? We were all set with our entrees and had our plates in front of us for the longest time. Our waitress was doing everything else (cleaning a table, resetting it, sweeping, rolling silverware???) but asking us if we were all set. One of the bussers noticed we were looking for her and it seemed he told her that we were all set. I wanted to try the beignets but I was ready to leave! Fried shrimp for the appetizer was okay. I got the gumbo which I thought that the sausage and chicken were cooked good but the broth was a little too salty. My friend got the creole gnocchi and that was delicious! So creamy and tasty. Bathrooms are also in the basement which you need to take an elevator to get to it.

The food was great, fried chicken was great, and all the food was cooked perfectly! Definately a great spot if you want something different from the typical local fare.

The $40 catfish gave me food poisoning.
We needed to eat before a show at the Wilbur theater and this restaurant did not disappoint. Service was attentive at the bar and our food came out at record speed. Probably less than 10 minutes after we ordered. The place had a nice atmosphere and was quite busy on a Saturday night. Definitely get a reservation!
The only con was that to use the bathroom you must take an elevator. A minor inconvenience

Fun atmosphere to enjoy drinks and dinner before the theater! We came before Cirque du Soleil and enjoyed the food and drinks. It was a bit heavy, so def recommend sharing main courses but delicious!

Ambience is fine—nothing standout—but the food makes the visit worthwhile. Started with a Sazerac, which was excellent. The shrimp appetizer was a bit undersalted, though squeezing some lemon helped. The real star was the gumbo: rich, flavorful, and served in a huge portion. We even asked for an extra serving of white rice so we could finish all of it, and still ended up with leftovers. For final drinks, I had the Cris Cris and my partner ordered something margarita-like; both were very good. Overall, a solid experience, and next time I’d probably just stick with another Sazerac.

RODENT INFESTED EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!
Edit because they replied:: this is the kind of problem that management is aware of and has clearly been aware of for months if not years. They're going to carefully review my comments? What a joke. How about they also go carefully review the rodent droppings as well? Hahahaha
Everything gets a 1 because this restaurant can't even handle the most fundamental requirement of being a restaurant. Keep in mind I worked in Pest Control for a while.
The first thing you smell when you enter is a literal wall of rat and mouse feces and urine. As you venture into their mouse dropping filled elevator to use the bathrooms, the smell intensifies. Their basement which is where their kitchen is reeks.
Fix your rampant pest control problem.
This place is fetid. This is one of the worst rodent infestations I have been around in Boston.

Restaurantji Recommends
The food that was edible was mediocre. We got a fried catfish that was soggy and cold on the inside. We had to send it back. The gumbo that was the replacement was so heavily salted that it was nearly inedible. The crawfish ettoufe was bland and needed hot sauce, and the texture of the rice was not good. The cocktail was actually very good. The service was kind. The bathroom is small and l accessible only by elevator. Expect long wait times to pee. Overall the place had lots of not okay food, with average atmosphere and average service. You can get better food anywhere for the price. Do not recommend this place.

It was perfect for my wife's birthday and a quick bite before heading to our play. Jambalaya pistachio martinis cornbread and chicken sandwich were delicious. Service was great and they brought out beignets with a candle afterwards to celebrate.
Excellent food, drinks, and service. Highly recommend the Creole Gnocchi. Of course the bignets, but, you wouldn't dare skip those, would you?

We were staying in a hotel close to the restaurant and dropped in for a snack and a drink on way back from wander on Newbury Street. Ordered drinks which were fine and then crab cake, chicken wings and fries, all of which were very poor quality. We communicated this to the server when he asked how everything was and his response was that it was just different taste to what we were used to back home, and walked away mid sentance!
Avoid if you want to spend your money and get value for it!

It was a nice enough place with a good looking menu. But the food turned out to be very mediocre. The service was attentive without being intrusive. It's very conveniently located right next to the Opera House if you are seeing anything in the Theater District. Unless they were just having a very off night, I wouldn't dine their again.
