Today September 16, 2024, at approximately 1:30pm at Fuji at High Street Place I ordered sushi, and I experienced two healthy doses of racism from the cashier and customer in line after me. The cashier was covertly racism with a look on his face like “you eat sushi” and from a guest who was overtly racist and completely unhinged because I asked her, “Are there straws there” and she grabbed her purse as if I was going to steal it. Fuji at High Street Place, please put straws out and label your condiments so I don’t have to ask your racist and privileged guest for a straw for my $3 San Pellegrino Orange Drink. Additionally, please make your cashiers aware that people of color eat sushi too. I will never eat at Fuji at High Street Place again. This was the worst experience of my day! I will take my sushi appetite to another welcoming location.

Definitely we will repeat! We selected the Fall foliage special roll with crab, salmon, tuna… and the savor is woaa! Fantastic! It is the best sushi place close to Seaport! The food hall with the DJ is a great option for a Saturday afternoon!

The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and it was clear that a great deal of care and expertise went into the preparation of each dish.A highlight of my meal was the sushi selection. Each piece was a work of art, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were balanced to perfection. The Dragon Roll and the Toro Nigiri were particularly memorable for their melt-in-your-mouth texture and depth of flavor.

The food at Fuji is outstanding. Far and away the best fusion Japanese food in Newton and around.
More than willing to spend money on some high quality sushi, but the awful cashier working on 12/30 at 7pm made the whole experience awful and cost them their business. Asked about substitutions on the sushi entree due to a food allergy and the person said very sarcastically that they had to upcharge since fish was expensive and removals would be full price. This would have been fine except for the attitude and extreme sarcasm from the cashier that made us not order from them.

The sushi looks fresh and delicious, but the cashier was so rude it made my party not want to order when we asked simple questions about substitutions. All we got back were extremely sarcastic responses when a simple that would be an upcharge would do. When we instead got a ramble of how salmon was more expensive then yellowtail so it would expensive. Overall the service from the cashier was just awful.
