Unless you are staying at the hotel, I don't see any reason to go here. Food is "meh" and a bit pricey for what you get.

I wanted to take a moment to recognize the exceptional service I received during my recent visit to Over the Charles. I'm somewhat of a regular, but my sister and brother in law were visiting from out west and I brought them for dinner here on Saturday night. Olivia, our server, was the best- she managed to balance giving us space with checking in just the right amount, and her thoughtful, funny demeanor truly made our visit even more great. Also, the gentleman at the door (I unfortunately didn't catch his name) was wonderful. He offered me many options for seating while the restaurant was quite full, but shortly afterwards he offered a better spot with a fantastic view when it became available. We had the best time catching up, but left talking about how wonderful your team is. Thank you!

Salad ordered with salmon is of an appetizer size. Piece of salmon was 2” x 2.” They didn't hold the cukes as requested. “Mixed greens” contained about half raw kale and pieces of old, rotted lettuce. Nobody refilled our empty water glasses from the time meal was served. We watched diners at next table leave, and then a new party seated, without table being wiped down. May be OK for a drink because the view is nice.

Food was ok. Chicken sandwich was chewy, burger was dry. For the price and quality, not worth wasting money on it. Waitress was friendly when at the table, but took 40 minutes once appetizer arrived and actually getting up from our table to get someone to serve us. we also waited another 30 minutes before seeing our waitress and we had to again ask the bar tender to flag our waitress down to get our check. View was nice, but unless you're at the edge, your view will be obstructed by other patrons. Try other rooftop bars if you're hoping to eat. We aren't picky or high maintenance, but the cost-to-value ratio is heavily against the value. This is my first review for anywhere I've eaten and only wrote one to save others money and time.

The food sucked a lot- I got a chicken sandwich and it was so dry/hard I could barely bite through it. It took our food over an hour to come out. The view was very pretty and they were playing great music. The drinks were good, but food sucked.

View was beautiful, drinks were good. Host was very polite and welcoming. Food was a little bland. Ceasar salad missed garlic and caper. Chowder needed salt and pepper. Service was slow, we waited a good half our for our bill. Specifications in our reservation were not taken into consideration. Chairs not suitable pour heavier people.

María O. Was our server. She was phenomenal. Great service and personality. Was prompt to take orders and was very attentive if we needed anything else. The food was delicious, especially shrimp dish and the clam chowder.

### Review of Over the Charles Restaurant **Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)** My recent dining experience at Over the Charles was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the evening was marred by poor service and subpar food. **Service:** - The maître d', wearing a mask, instructed us to scan a QR code for the menu and informed us that we would need to leave in an hour and 10 minutes, which felt rushed and unwelcoming. - We were the only diners in the restaurant, yet the atmosphere was far from pleasant, with music playing from a JBL speaker. - The limited menu was frustrating, as my first two drink choices were unavailable. When I asked for water with ice due to the hot weather, I received warm water instead. **Food:** - We ordered shared olives for the table, which arrived with a hunk of hard cheese. My entrée was served alongside the appetizer, but my daughter's entrée was delayed, forcing us to eat separately. - Her ginger ale came in a plastic bottle, and her burger, which was supposed to include bacon, arrived without it. Additionally, the burger was inexplicably split in half, despite no request to share it. - The food quality was mediocre at best, failing to justify the $90 bill. **Overall Experience:** - The service was horrendous, and the overall experience was the worst I've had in a restaurant. For the first time in my life, I felt compelled to leave a zero tip. I would not recommend Over the Charles to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. Save your money and dine elsewhere.

Beautiful place to enjoy a lovely warm summer evening. The menu is limited, but the chicken wings we ordered were tasty. Not a lot of food for the price though. The on tap beer was unavailable and the canned one I wanted also unavailable. I felt like our server wasn't as attentive as she should have been but she was friendly when she was there. A fuller menu, and more reasonable prices would improve a wonderful ambiance.

Had an amazing experience celebrating a co-workers upcoming wedding! Marie, our server, was amazing! She was warm, friendly, and efficient. The chef, was also terrific, providing us with a celebratory cake that was from the staff at Over the Charles. Can't recommend this place enough, and should be considered one of the hidden gems of Boston restaurants!

The hostess was great despite a many walkins for a prime rooftop spot. The drink service was not good however. The drinks were being made but the wait staff was all over the place and it took a while to get drinks. The views were spectacular.

We had such a great time at Over the Charles! We did not know it was there previously, so we were so happy to have found it. We loved the amazing views and even with a pop up shower, it was still great. (We just ducked inside for a couple minutes and then staff wiped off chairs quickly when the rain stopped.) The service was excellent. We enjoyed our friendly hostess, Adriana, and our server, Maria was excellent! We will definitely return!

Menu is limited but food was good. Some fun drinks on the menu including mocktails! But the view cannot be beat! And service was great. Servers were quick and courteous. Free parking if you spend $50, which was not a problem for us!

I'm so happy I happen to find this gem, and wonder why I haven't heard about it before. We were a party of seven locals and none of us knew about this place – why not? Fortunately, we had the perfect night for it, and the view is *spectacular* as was the service. The waitress and the hostess both really went out of their way to help us and make suggestions. They were so sweet and attentive. The menu was comprehensive for both adults and the teenagers that we brought with us. Our food was very satisfactory. And we were presented with two complementary “ birthday cakes” - one for me and one for my granddaughter, which consisted of their flourless chocolate cake and were delicious. Who else does that? But the main thing I remember is the view and especially the service, which makes a big difference in how much one enjoys a restaurant as far as I'm concerned. I am really eager to go back.
