I miss this type of classic Cantonese restaurant. Great food at super fair price! Also very friendly waiting staff. I do think unless you read in Chinese and know what you are expecting you can experience differently. I hope they stay in business for long. You go there for good food and not fancy places to chat.

When we first walked in, the restaurant smelled horrible, like rotten fish and the interior was dirty and the carpets looked like it hasn’t been cleaned for 40 years. Two of the dishes had hair in them and the boss didn’t say sorry, raised her voice at us, and was very rude.

Hey Hey

Ok, the food was fine, but the business practices are unethical. The owner will *force* you to pay a certain amount of tip. If you don't pay it, he will either 1. chase you out of the restaurant demanding the tip, or 2. he will tell you that he is charging the tip that he wants to your card, despite you not authorizing it.

Yes, he authorizing whatever amount he wants to you want. There is no integrity in this merchant, and I'm pretty sure that is illegal.

We went to Ga Ga on the recommendation of a Yelp Elite and Barron of Chinatown, so we had high hopes. It did not disappoint.

Located on Tyler st on the second floor, it’s easy to miss. I’ve probably walked by the place dozens of times and never noticed it. We were promptly seated. Staff were very friendly and gave us complementary tea when we sat down. The interior is two rooms and they have big tables that would be good for groups.

What we got:
- Hot and sour soup
- Eggplant and short rib hot pot
- Lobster sautéed in ginger scallion sauce

The hot and sour was maybe the best I’ve had. It was packed with tofu, mushrooms, and a delicious broth. We ordered a “small” it was huge!

The eggplant and short rib was without a doubt the best I’ve had. The eggplant was perfectly cooked. The beef was incredibly tender. All in a perfect sauce. It came out in a sizzling bowl. This is a dish to dream of.

The sautéed lobster was also a knock-out. Perfectly cooked. I haven’t had this dish often, so I don’t have a lot to compare it to, but we loved it.

I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. Definitely recommend stopping in!

The only thing that I dislike from here is the inaccurate of the bills that they write in Chinese and they even give me time to read?? I'm doubtful about the accuracy

If you want some authentic and good food, come here. I wouldn't recommend getting take out since their portions seems significantly smaller than dine in but they're equally as good. The fish is amazing and I'm notorious for not liking fish. I went with my friend who is from China and she says it's her favorite spot on the east coast.my favorites are definitely the calamari and the stir fry. They were super welcoming and I'm surprised this place is not more popular!

I had visited this place with a good friend before a couple of years ago. I revisited with fond memory. I ordered five dishes despite being a party of 3, including 2lb crab. The food was fine but not something you can only get from this place. Better than average Joe but won't blow your mind. But my main problem is how deceitful they were with charges. Normally, each dish would accompany with a bowl of rice. Waitress asked how many rice. We were party of 3 so I said 3. Than I ordered another bowl and refill of tea. Later I saw on the tab she charged $4.50 for rice and $10 for the tea. Neither was explained as extra charges. I personally have not been to a Chinese where they charge you for the tea. If the rule changed it's okay but it should be indicated that those were extra charges so that I can make informed decisions. I read thru the reviews and none of the reviews mention extra charge for the tea. Is this tourist charge? She figures I wouldn't know the difference? I thought about letting it go but decided not to for others who might be in the same situation.

My family and I have been going to Gaga for years. It’s authentic and delicious! All the noodle dishes are delicious and the pickled veggies are yummy too

Delicious! The steamed fish was perfectly cooked, and the crab maw soup was very flavorful! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for fresh seafood.

The food was good, but after we ate, I went to the ladies room and it was beyond filthy. Dirt and grime and guck everywhere. I completely lost my appetite and could never go back there again.
