Ate here today and everyone was so nice, thank you so much for the delicious food. Sitting down for breakfast instantly made me emotionally invested in the people, the history, and the business.
I do have some notes - and this comes from a place of love.
Takeout Orders needs to stop. We arrived at 10:30 for a 2 top, waited 30 minutes to be sat, and then waiting another 45 minutes for our orders to be taken. The kitchen can’t handle that amount of volume, and it hurts the experience for the people who are coming to dine in.
It’s a small restaurant and efficiency is really key. Between the bread station, and the grill, the coffee machine and bus station - I think it would do you well to re-imagine the flow. Don’t put the hollandaise sauce in the back with the dishwasher. Making sure the ham is pre-cut every morning would save a lot of time.
In general decluttering would help, more prep time, and to focus on the in dining experience would help turn tables faster.
I have a sneaking suspicion that over the years the experience has changed, and I would like to see Galley get back to what it once was.

Anthony Bourdain came here for a reason. The food was great. I mean... probably the best omelette I've had in years. The steak was incredible and the French toast was perfectly unique with its own flavor that was subtle and easy. Great bread. The whole atmosphere was made perfect by the eclectic celebration of exactly what makes this place special. The people were kind and made it feel like you were genuinely welcome and that they were happy we were there.

The Galley Diner is a family owned/run establishment that just feels like Boston! This small but mighty diner delivers in great customer service and even greater food. Located by Castle Island, this place is great for a bite to eat and a walk along the beach.

Any place you have to queue with locals to get in has got to be good! Small and I mean small by today’s standards, friendly, sit at the serving bar and watch the food getting prepared before your eyes. Great breakfast tehn walked over to the beach to walk it off! Worth a visit

If you're getting breakfast in Southie...scratch that, if you're getting breakfast in Boston, it should be HERE. There are very few joints left that evoke the immediate sense of comfort when walking in - it's good and honest food, and great prices, with incredible staff. The corned beef hash, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and coffee are something you go to bed looking forward to eating them in the morning.

The place is nice and cosy, a small place that I think that mainly the local people are going. The food tastes nice and the people in this place are very welcoming and kind. If you want to get the feeling of a nice local restaurant I recommends you to go there.
