Most unique bar the Boston. The waitstaff is attentive and kind. Don’t let it intimidate you, it’s well worth it. Amazing cocktails with flavors that seem like they should not work, but are amazing

Very cool experience, great staff and very focused/professional bartender. I cut 1 star for the price. It is about $25 a cocktail. Also, they have non alcoholic options for $13

1 thing about the place is, the drinks aren't cheap.
Compared to some places going at 16 to 18
This place is going at 22. All before tax and tips.
Now what makes this place special.
The effort. Most drinks are nicely presented and decorated. The drinks are not the highest in ABV but not low as well. Average of the 4 drinks I had, will put them around 18% to 20%.

The ambience is amazing. Truly a realm of dark arts.
The problem is, they have a small space and you might and will wait for a seat.
And is worth it.
I waited for 30mins. No regrets.

Whimsical. Deliberate. Delicious. Such a fun cocktail experience. Thanks to Jack our amazing bartender.

Hecate is a great concept in theory, but the experience really needs refining. This was my third attempt to get in, and from the time I parked to when I left, it took nearly three hours...for one drink.

We arrived around 4:50 and were told the wait would be 60–75 minutes. I got a text confirming a 6:15 slot (with a credit card hold), which seemed fine. But when we returned, there were still no seats, and we ended up waiting another 45 minutes.

Once seated, the space was moody and on-theme, but cramped and very dark. It took another 15 minutes to get our orders in, which I get - each cocktail is intricate and there’s only one bartender. A dedicated service bartender to concentrate on the booths and tables might really elevate the experience.

The drink itself was lovely, and the menu is fun, but the long waits and sluggish pacing made the experience feel more exhausting than exclusive.

When I asked the server if the drinks could be made without ingredients that I’m allergic to, he insisted smugly that everything was premade and nothing could be modified. When I went to the bar to ask the bartender, server accosted me at the bar and insisted that nothing could be done. He then offered to tell me what I could have, which I declined since I’m able to read English. I think the 20% auto-grat explains how atrocious the service was. Would not recommend if you have allergies or self-respect, better drinks and service can be had for less money and a shorter wait.

Epitome of speakeasy. Alleyway entrance, dark, mixology. The drinks are good but not great. They focus more on the exotic ingredients than on the alcohol. The menu has amazing artistic designs.

The charm of an exclusive speak easy but felt let down. Sat near the busy bathroom on seats and table so small felt crowded and uncomfortable in blinding darkness. Drinks were overly complex but lacked balance. Snacks were disappointing. Didn’t live up to the price or hype. Cool concept but lacked substance. Music also didn’t match the secret society vibe.

Great atmosphere. Drinks used to be far superior, staff used to be more knowledgeable.

Hecate is one of those rare gems that feels like stepping into another world. Tucked away and hard to find—which only adds to its charm—this speakeasy is a true experience from start to finish. The moment you step inside, the atmosphere hits you: dark, mysterious, and beautifully designed with a witchy, occult-inspired aesthetic that’s immersive without feeling overdone. Every inch of the place feels intentional, from the lighting to the decor to the faint, moody soundtrack that ties it all together.

The bartender (I wish I’d caught her name) was absolutely exceptional. She knew her craft inside and out, offering great suggestions and explaining each drink with confidence and personality. Beyond the skill, she was genuinely welcoming—easy to talk to and clearly passionate about creating a memorable experience for every guest. Her presence alone elevated the night, and she’s a big part of why this visit stood out as much as it did.

The drinks themselves were as creative as the setting. Every cocktail felt carefully designed, both in flavor and presentation, and the balance between the visual theme and actual mixology skill was spot on. It wasn’t just for show—each drink had depth, thought, and precision behind it.

Hecate ended up being a highlight of my entire trip to Boston. It’s one of those places that lingers in your memory long after you leave. The vibe, the people, and the atmosphere all come together to create something truly special.

I would absolutely go again and plan to. In fact, it’s made me want to seek out more places like this wherever I travel—spots that focus not just on drinks, but on crafting an entire mood. Simply put, Hecate was unforgettable.

Hecate is a super cool place. Tucked away in a secretive location, we almost thought we were lost! Made for a really good surprise walking into this well decorated place. Cool music and cool vibe. They have really cool concepts from interesting interiors to glow in dark menus!

Only thing keeping away the five stars would be the price factor. Liked my drink but not enough to pay a whopping $22 (excl tax and tip).
