I celebrated my birthday at Hobgoblin with 15 friends in their basement space. There was live music from some talented Berklee students that night, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience.
I was able to make the initial reservation on Resy, modify it as needed by calling the restaurant, and they even gave me a semi private area so that our big group could mingle while listening to the music.
It’s rare for a place to have great food, amazing drinks, a fabulous vibe/atmosphere, AND live music with incredible service. Hobgoblin was all that and more and my friends couldn’t stop raving about how much they enjoyed it. I can’t wait to go back!!

Really nice interior with a lot of thought and attention gone into making it a classic pub like feel but definitely on an upscale level.
We sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of beers and a very well made cocktail. Our visit on this occasion was late afternoon but I would definitely visit again at a later time of day and enjoy more of an evening vibe.

Came on a wednesday night took a while to get service. Got our food before our drinks which was kinda disappointing (we ordered the drinks before hand)
The beef tartar was good - has some spice though!
The rasberry lobster dip was delicious 10/10

Very cool decor. Service was fantastic. Cocktails were delicious, but food was just mediocre for the price.

Drinks were decent. Ordered onion rings that were soggy and way over spiced.
Rest room was dirty. Not really acceptable at this price point.

All of the art in the basement is clearly AI generated with Ai-typical errors in the numbers of fingers people had, etc., and my food had vegetables in it that had very clearly been frozen and then steamed. Besides that the food was good though

Restaurantji Recommends
Very ugly, old and dark place
They didn't play the piano, we went for it
We thought it was a bar with good music but the music is bad and the atmosphere is happy and festive.
The food leaves a lot to be desired
Very bad drinks
The attention of the Brazilian waiter was very good.
I wouldn't go back
