The food is always great here but tonight, I got heckled by a rather rude server over the amount I decided to tip. I tipped an amount for me and the small group I was with (no more than 4) that seemed appropriate for the quality of service that we received. Might I add, that food kept being given to the wrong person and the payment card wasn’t even given back to the right person (yikes). I was harassed, saying that my tip was not sufficient and that I tipped too little. Given that rude and off putting comment, they are lucky I didn’t decide to revoke my tip then. Tips are important as I know servers make their money off of them, but to be rude does not entitle you to dictate the customer’s tip. Appalling.

The food is decent for the price. Service is awful. Our server gave the credit card back to the wrong person, gave each dish to the wrong person each time, and also served me a corona with a lemon? On top of that, our server cornered us for “not tipping enough and that we needed to tip at least 18%” Their only written policy states that this is true for parties of 6 or more of which we were not (only 4 people). Extremely rude and off-putting.

My husband and I really enjoyed our evening here. My stomach was a little funny so I went low key and got a miso soup, a single chicken skewer and a avo-cucumber roll. It was the perfect amount of food for me at that moment. All three items were delish. My husband got the Kimchi Jigae and he liked it very much. This place was HOPPING by the time we left. It's clearly well liked - even the bar seating was full. We were served quickly and kindly by the waitstaff and they were moving people along. I hope to get to visit this restaurant again when I am able to eat more!

Ordered from Uber eats and got a teriyaki salmon and a caterpillar roll. Both were very solid but not too memorable. It's not my top pick for Japanese food in Boston but the prices and great and the quality is consistent! I will definitely return to try more of the menu in the future.

Ichiban yakitori Japanese restaurant, Westland ave, Boston. If your in the neighborhood give this cute Japanese style very typical decor. Eel Sushi is fresh and delicious, yakitori was adequate, wish the chef used less sauce and grilled the chicken more to bring out the natural flavors . The grilled saba was delicious but a bit dry.grilled prawns delicious simple salt pepper wonderful flavor ,Grilled mushrooms delicious,grilled galbi tasty , also miso soup had nice flavor. Overall the food is fresh but with a bit tweaking the flavors will shine. If your in the neighborhood give this place a try.Parking: Meter street parking when available
I come here everyday - I am especially appreciative of the quality and pricing of the lunch bento boxes. My favorite items are the unagi bento box, pork katsu curry, caterpillar roll, tekka maki, and miso soup. They are priced very well, taste great, and are provided with impeccable service and consistency each time.
Dec2023Party of 2: Miso soup was a nice starter warm to taste and simple to consume made us feel good. The maki passed the flavor taste test 8/10 didnt make us feel sick the next day which is always a plus. Enjoyed the spider roll. The beef bibimpab was alright it was missing spice hues and the spicy aroma. Their version of hotate yaki (dish on the shell) 10/10 presentation and very flavorful it was the only spicy thing on our table and that was the only disappointing thing since the bibimbap was supposed to be spicy as well. Atmosphere is nice with friendly staff and chill vibes. Recommend this place.

Good place with good food. Stopped by for dinner, and it was a good choice. The food was good and fresh. The soup was a great choice. Sushi were food as well. The atmosphere inside was ok. Place definitely needs some cleaning, especially the downstairs and bathroom.
