Fun local spot, a bit nicer than a dive, especially with the new lounge room in the back. The only food in the place are the toasties, made to order grilled cheese sandwiches on multi grain + American, comes with or without ham and mustard. A no frills grilled cheese that hit the spot with my beer. They have darts and run trivia on Tuesday, I'll be back.

Solo stopped in before and after a roadrunner concert. I didn’t have any food so not reviewing that. Bartender was quick with a drink and poured a proper Guinness. Seemed to handle the crowds after the concert well too. Good music and classic beautiful wooden Irish bar. Would absolutely go again for a pint or 8.

Great service and drink selection.
My boyfriend and I’s favorite dive bar in Brighton, incredible espresso martinis, friendly bartenders, and the best part… the best place for live music in Boston! We’ve seen incredible local talent here, and are so grateful to have this in our neighborhood.

I haven’t bn for ages although I know it’s the same owner who knows who’s who, I had great times in there with my father n his friends and many a nights with my friends , The IV is a Brighton treasure never any trouble and great ppl have always worked there . You cannot go wrong anytime of day or night . You won’t get a bad Guinness in there well I nvr did. I miss the Village I’ll have to stop by for a pint! NC 5 Starr
A favorite bar. Full disclosure: the food is what you make of it as they only have toasties but allow you to bring in anything. A favorite bar for 25-plus years and now they have an annex with lots of great programming. A very well thought out draft selection with the odd but perfectly serviceable tradition of serving wine in half bottles. Darts if the place is not crowded.

What a time. Sean pours a great pint. Maverick guides the music.
