Fast and effficent service especially at night. The prices are fare and standard for ice cream that is made by people and not machines. If you have a problem with the ices here, there's a CVS down the way, they are at or even below market standard for the type of ice cream they make, the sizes are generous.

The ice cream itself was great. Customer service was helpful and friendly. Pricing seemed reasonable to me. Place could have been a little cleaner. I think the poor scores are to harsh. I'd definitely return when in the area.

Ice cream at 9am? Well, this location of J.P. Licks, located at a shopping plaza on VFW Parkway is open daily from 9am - 11pm. But I gather from their posted announcement that they've roasted their own coffee since 1981, and their full page of coffee selections, that their normal morning clientele isn't here for the ice cream. But I was. And I came to redeem my free birthday small ice cream. A single scoop at a cost saving of $5.65. The long narrow space with tables to the side in the front and the ice cream counter at the back (with a freezer of prepacked pints and quarts) had but one customer ahead of me when I entered. Service was pleasant, and I took my scoop with two flavors to go. The cinnamon toast crunch tasted quite good (in fact was preferred of the two, the second being peanut butter cookies 'n' cream), but the cereal's texture was vastly not improved by its frozen experience.

Cozy little place with five tables, plenty of free parking, great ice cream, my favorite soft XYougurt, friendly staff.

There were four flavors available. The chocolate was okay, however, I had had an incredible flavor, Mexican Chocolate in recent times back home in the Hudson Valley so I was biased. I ended up with the black raspberry and it was okay. Service is good and friendly.

Normally I would would stop at JP Licks on Centre St. but because I was in a rush to go home I stopped at the JP Licks in VFW Parkway and to my surprise I found two strand of hair… (it was inside the vanilla ice cream) oh and only one of the staff had a hat on, the other three did not… ? NEVER AGAIN…

Sad looking cup of ice cream. I asked for a medium, and the cup was nearly empty. I asked the lady for some more. And she said it was going to be extra.I don't mind paying (I ended up paying the extra), but dang not worth the price.

My family loves JP Licks and all of the staff - good location, great ice cream and service. Makes us feel happy.

Been going to JP lLicks since the 1980s. What’s up with this weighing ice cream jazz? Its advertised as by the scoop? I order a large and I got a sad looking smooshed melted puddle of ice cream and Not a scoop to be found. I’ll pay the money but it’s gotta at least be frozen and resemble scoops. Presentation folks! Really disappointing and not worth it JP licks.

Too expensive!! And the flavors never change $10 for a pint of ice cream? Scoops have gotten ridiculously smaller. 1 scoop Sunday and couldn't find the ice cream! The hot chocolate melted it all and it was the smallest scoop of ice cream. Go to Ron's in Dedham or the gelato place on Centre or take a trip to friendly. Highway robbery.

I grew up on JP Licks ice cream so it has a sweet spot in my heart and my belly. I'm a big fan of their fruity pebbles and oatmeal cookie (no longer available sadly) and coconut almond chip (with hot fudge FTW). They can be a bit overpriced, and some of their flavors are just ok, and they seem to be obsessed with cookies and cream because half their flavors are variations on that! But they also make good hot fudge, have solid options and are a local staple. My all time favorite that started out as a seasonal flavor and has become a standard is Salted Caramel Cookies & Cream, it's such a unique and delicious blend of two great flavors. The sweet and tart burned flavor of Carmel rides over your taste buds in waves and the more mellow cookies soaked in the creamy caramel making them just the right amount of soft. The flavors hit at different moments or blend in the right spots, and the salt makes this ice cream perfectly soft and slightly melted at all times. It's the flavor I can't get enough of. out of 5 cones! Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookie Batter Ice Cream, a temporary flavor with a delicious flavor and great texture (I love whole oatmeal bits!). Lots of chunks and lots of butterscotch, this is a great one I hope they keep around for longer! out of 5 cones! We also enjoyed a sample tasting of their King Tut (sweet and creamy turmeric and coriander ice cream), reminds me of rice pudding, so yummy, but needs a topping to add some crunch. Cookies 'N' Cream is one of their classics, it's simple and it works. out of 5 cones! Very strong sugary cookie flavor, not so much chocolatey and also doesn't quite taste like an Oreo either, but it works, it's got a lot more punch than the McConnell's c'n'c, but it's still not a favorite of mine. It's too sweet and not chocolatey enough for me. But if you are a c'n'c fan it is certainly worth a try.

Of course, always great ice cream and frozen yogurt, but I went in to claim my free birthday cup of ice cream, and the person waiting on me looked at me like I had two heads! Maybe the staff should know about these promotions!
