One of the best duck dish I had in years. We also enjoyed the orange beer and the creme brule dessert, which I was pleasantly surprised to find in an Asian cuisine restaurant. That is Boston for you!

I went here for a friend’s birthday. I was shocked when they let us hang and chat for many hours. So thank you for that!
The atmosphere is super cool. We were there for lunch, but it had a cool jazzy vibe. The restroom felt like something from a Kubrick movie though!
The food selection is really limited as a vegetarian. My table shared a bunch of things like duck and pork, but I couldn’t eat. I ate the lotus root with sticky rice and the lotus root with mixed veg. Very lotus root heavy.
The sticky rice one was sweet. It was more dessert than appetizer! It was a bit too sweet actually. And I didn’t get too many bites of the sticky rice. The texture was also much softer than I’m used to with sticky rice.
For the mixed veg one, it’s a crispier lotus root. I really liked the mushrooms. The sauce was a bit thick, but it was a nice contrast to the crispy lotus root.

We came without a reservation, but bar seats were available—lucky timing!
This is one of my daughter’s go-to spots, so I wanted to give it a try. Since I don’t eat meat, the options for me were somewhat limited, but I genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered.
The couple seated next to us ordered several meat dishes, and the portions were impressively large. Despite the generous sizes, they kept finishing one plate after another, which says a lot—those meat dishes must be excellent.

Absolutely amazing dining experience!
Jiangnan is truly a hidden gem in Boston. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels elegant, warm, and welcoming — perfect for a date night, a celebration, or even a casual dinner with friends.
The food is outstanding. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of rich, authentic flavors. You can really taste the quality and care put into each plate. The menu offers a great variety, and everything we tried was fresh, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious.
The service deserves special praise. The staff is attentive, friendly, and professional, always making sure you feel comfortable and well taken care of without being intrusive.
If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Chinese cuisine with a refined touch, Jiangnan is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know!

If you are a family with an infant then coming here will be difficult as they do not have family accommodations. There is not changing table. My child passed a BM. And none of their non gendered bathrooms had a changing table and unfortunately I had to change my baby’s diaper on the floor. I was disgusted. The bathroom floor had water or substance everywhere.
Omgg what an amazing place! Jiangnan truly stands out as one of the best Chinese dining experiences in the city. Their Peking duck is easily the best in the Boston area, perfectly crispy skin, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The overall atmosphere is elegant and modern, and the service is awesome without being overwhelming. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving high-quality Chinese cuisine, Jiangnan delivers on both taste and experience. Absolutely worth coming back for.

Food was bad, chlorinated water, which was also used to make the tea. Dumplings and buns as appetizers tasted like pre-made and not even warmed up properly. Cumin beef was cheap fast-food quality and really greasy.
Servers were polite, but inattentive. We were refused to change table to booth, even though half of the places were empty throughout our dinner.
We visited due to good reviews, but the place is heavily overrated and overpriced.

Took away my plate while I was eating. I might also DoorDash this restaurant some salt, pepper, and spices so they can use some in their food and not serve boiled unsalted food for $50 and the server won’t have to apologize for the terrible food.

A most ridiculous place with un knowledgeable and obnoxious staff. I was visiting from London and looking for a nice higher end chinese restaurant so I chose Jiang Nan after some searching. The service was decidedly poor with the waitress not knowing anything about the menu. I asked her if they offered familiar options like vermicelli noodles and beef fried rice, she said they didn’t but upon closer inspection of the menu, both items were indeed on the menu.
The food was mostly bland particularly the rice but the worst thing was the brazen rudeness and audacity of the wait staff and a gentleman who appeared to be some sort of manager. They both accosted me and accused me of leaving too small a tip and demanded to know why I had tipped so little. I was gobsmacked as I’ve never seen behaviour this appalling from an establishment. While I understand that tipping is part and parcel of the American service culture, I think feeling so entitled to a minimum amount of tip, something which should be at the customers complete discretion and then causing a scene and trying to reprimand the customer for not leaving you a generous enough tip is a spectacularly crass thing to do. The manager went as far as to say I should have told them I wasn’t planning on leaving them a generous tip before they gave me a table. Apparently they did me some sort of favour by allowing me to pay to eat at their restaurant and a generous tip should have been their just reward. I have never seen such disgraceful and entitled behaviour from any service establishment in my entire life and it just goes to show the lack of refinement from the staff of this place. I will never ever visit this place again and will caution anyone to avoid.
