Kayuga, a Boston restaurant offering Korean and Japanese dishes, provides a unique dining experience. Known for its late-night Korean BBQ and hotpot, the restaurant serves well-marbled meats with generous portions, making it a popular choice for midnight cravings. The fried oysters remain a must-try, featuring a delightful crunchy exterior and juicy inside. The 2-person combo, which includes pork belly, marinated short ribs, kimchi stew, and soybean stew, is satisfying, although some may find the pork belly could be a thicker cut. The Agedashi tofu and sizzling gizzards are highlighted as great appetizers, while the Maewoon Tang soup is noted for its full flavor. Though the yaki udon may disappoint with its lack of flavor and dry chicken breast, the udon noodles and dumplings have excellent consistency and taste. Service is commendable, especially when the restaurant is not crowded, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is fun and lively, suitable for enjoying great food with friends. However, some drawbacks include loud music and occasional distractions, such as a staff member watching a movie on their phone. Parking can be a challenge, as the restaurant is located on busy Commonwealth Ave, although weekday street parking may be easier to find.
