Over proced horrible service your better off st starby. The manager Brian is very rude and entitled. Not sure why he carry such bad energy not sure if he's racist but it felt like it. I believe in great communication and customer service this is lacking at this shop.
One of the best hot chocolate places in town! This is one of the main places I take friends when they come into town!
Loved the rich dark hot chocolate.
I see why people stand in line fir this. Made to order. Thick and delicious. Then jad the chocolate coconut cake. Wish i had gotten a picture but gone too fast.
Famous for their chocolate mice.
Worth every penny to come here.
The thickest richest hot chocolate in the city!
Easily top 5 hot chocolates in Massachusetts
The best chocolate shop in Boston.
Great coffee and lots of chocolate options. Staff was friendly and it was warm and inviting inside.
Nice shop. Really cozy. I had a dark chocolate mocha. I got 2 desserts to go and when I got home I realized one was wrong (I ordered the chocolate lemon cake). I'm super sad to discover the substitute was the kirsch cake which, while I'm sure is great for certain people, smells like a distillery. I will try again!
Good staff good environment
La Burdick used to be the go-to place for truffles in Boston, known for its high-quality chocolates and charming atmosphere. However, in recent years, it seems they haven’t invested much in service or staff training. The employees often appear less experienced or unmotivated, and many are young interns. One noticeable drawback is that the shop hasn’t upgraded its payment system to allow customers to tip the staff, which feels like a missed opportunity to support and motivate their team.
In contrast, Läderach, a top truffle brand from Switzerland, has established itself in Boston with exceptional service. Their staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, often offering free truffle samples to customers, which adds to the overall experience.
During my recent visit to La Burdick, I ordered a coffee and was told by a young staff member that it would only be served in a paper cup because I hadn’t secured a table yet. The ton was not right. It was a disappointing interaction that highlighted the need for better customer service training. While their chocolates remain great and their coffee is good, it feels like the brand may be relying too heavily on its prime location and longstanding reputation. Unfortunately, this is how even the best businesses can start to lose their edge.

LA Burdicks, Back Bay.
Their hot chocolate, so far is my gold standard.
Tiny store but packed with dark and milk chocolate. Also have pastries as well.
This is a must visit when visiting the Back Bay Area.
Rich, chocolaty. Steaming hot if you desire.
LA Burdick does a cup of hot chocolate right.
Staff is very polite and courteous.
Dark Chocolate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thick pure warmth
Spicy Dark Chocolate ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I didn’t feel the spiciness at first, I just felt it was thick but not pure. I only felt the spiciness at the end of the drink.

This place brings me sooooo much joy. I dream of their spicy hot chocolate. Even the hot chocolate I had in Belgium didn’t come close.

Service is awful, they mistook the order, and we have to pay to compensate for it. Just taste like regular chocolate that is overpriced as a tourist trap. I would recommend going to other places that isn't 7 dollars for a 3 oz cup.
