The service was horrible , 1.5 hr wait to get food after we sat down. Waiter was rude and didn't bring out the correct food. Owner was apologetic but offered nothing to make it right. Would not recommend this restaurant

I really loved the vibe of this restaurant. It felt like a family owned restaurant and they even had a guy come around and play a song for you. We ordered the caprese salad and bruschetta as appetizers. That didn't really stand out to me but the pasta dish I ordered was arrabiata spaghetti and it was so good! Nice hint of spice but not too spicy. Boston definitely has some of the best Italian food.

Our small group had an amazing experience from the moment we walked in. The owner greeted us and asked what we felt like eating vs just what we saw on menu, and steered us perfectly. We each thoroughly enjoyed our dishes including fresh pasta, and a variety of sauces and proteins. We had more food than we could eat, but wished we could.

Glad we stopped in during our weekend visit to Boston. We were the second of two tables when we came in but the place filled up quick during our stay. Everything was fantastic. Service was great. We will be back.

The best experience I've had. The staff were amazing, the food was phenomenal. This place deserves a 5-star rating! The owner and the waiters and waitresses were really nice! Overall this place is amazing.

Our scheduled day downtown out got out of whack. We found ourselves in the North End at 4:00, but we didn't have a dinner reservation until 6:00. "Do we want to go somewhere just for a glass of wine and appetizer? Will a restaurant hate us for that?" Just as we said that, the owner of Dolce Vita popped his head out of his establishment to woo us in. We told him we just wanted a drink and appetizer and he didn't flinch. He welcomed us with literal open arms. At 4:00, the place was nearly empty, as I would expect. We did end up ordering wine (2 glasses each, by the time we got done), and a few apps. The eggplant rolitini was good overall. The ricotta filling and sauce were delicious, but the eggplant itself was either overcooked or under-ripe. It was VERY tough. The prosciutto and melon was also very good. In our snobby opinion, it is impossible to find excellent prosciutto outside of Italy. It just loses something while being shipped. However, Dolce Vita had the best prosciutto this side of the ocean! It was the best I have ever had in the US! True to our word, we asked for our check after our apps and wine. Franco was very nice and didn't try to hard-sell us to stay for a full dinner. We promised we would be back soon. All the entrees around us looked amazing. Dolce Vita will be my first choice the next time we are in the North End for dinner. By the time we left at about 5:15, the place was starting to really fill up.

Food was ok. Would we go back to this place, NO!! There's plenty of amazing Italian restaurants next door, around the block. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. The owner only greets who he wants too not everyone. We got ignored til we got a waitress attention. We were early and maybe 2 other tables were seated. People say authentic Italian I would say depends what you think authentic actually is.

Great Experience! We fell upon this place when trying to get in somewhere to eat in the north end. It felt like we were in Italy and the food was amazing. Authentic feel and would highly recommend.

If you have dietary restrictions the choices were limited on having options or making anything special. We were excited about the range of the menu but the food was okay. Atmosphere from outside looked inviting but the service levels weren't the best from an experience perspective.

We were at Dolce Vita last night. It is a nice looking restaurant. The huge front windows were opened because it was a warm evening. We were offered their breads that all are off of their appetizer menu- and when declined, they brought us very blah tasting, light as air white bread with butter. We ordered and when the food came, it looked lovely. I ordered Cavatelli with Shrimp, Scallops and Portobello for $34.99. There was a large portion of spinach on the plate with ONE scallop and two shrimp- Really? The seafood was delicious, but the portion was pathetic! The Cavatelli was rock hard in some instances- very far from 'al dente'. The flavors were nice, but I was far from impressed. My husband enjoyed his Parmesan Chicken dish, but we will not return to this restaurant on subsequent trips to Boston.

We visited on a busy Saturday night. There was a line, even for those of us who had reservations, however, we could see that customers were finished, but just enjoying themselves and in no hurry to leave. Those of us in line started chatting and discovered that it was a favorite of the locals we were chatting with. Once seated we had a great table. We had several wait staff throughout the evening and we were well taken care of. Our dinners, both pasta, were delicious. Throughout the meal we enjoyed the high energy, our servers and the food!
