It's a small restaurant with a relaxed, informal atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. The food was special- so delicious that my husband, son and I agreed that this was our favorite restaurant. It appeared that other customers were having similar reactions, which added to a wonderful dining experience.
Overall great experience at comfort kitchen. Welcoming staff, a different cozy bright atmosphere that we enjoyed. Drinks were delicious, jerk sliders are a must. Our mains duck, and monk fish had great flavors! Definitely recommend.
This place is my new favorite Boston restaurant period. The food is delicious, creative, and completely unlike what you'll find at most fine dining restaurants. The cocktails are unique, inventive and f% delicious, the vibe and service is perfect and the location shines a spotlight on Boston community that remains "off the map" even most locals. Truly a neighborhood gem, and a reflection of the very best the real Boston has to offer - but don't tell anyone, it is hard enough to get a reservation as is!
The music was too loud, and the room had no sound proofing, so as diners arrived, the noise of voices was extreme. The food was wonderful but very expensive. The service was excellent.
The food had unique flavors that were refreshing. There seemed to be a lack of communication amongst the staff that led to a feeling of being rushed with constant reminders of our time limit that diminished the overall experience. My party understood paying a premium for a fine dining experience. I also understand that there is only 1 spot that could accommodate a party of 8, but Boston traffic, especially on a weekend is unfortunately part of living in Boston. I had high hopes and was looking forward to checking out the restaurant, but was disappointed and won't be back.
We ordered the Suya beef, jerk duck, and short ribs as well as a couple cocktails. Everything was delicious and exciting combinations of flavors. Looking forward to going back and trying more items off the menu!
Eat here TONIGHT!! This is a very unique restaurant- you won't find this anywhere else! African fusion - yes that is very broad, but even menu has little blogs like a magazine talking about the diaspora and food anthropology of curry or coffee or spices along the silk road. It is an educational gastronomical wonder! Also in a cute historic building with great ambiance and side patios with cute lighting. Get over to Dorchester's Uphams Corner! Congrats to this large culinary team for terrific food, non alcoholic fun drinks, cocktails/libations and desserts!! Good for families with babies through that romantic dinner you are planning!
This has been one of our favs. The food is tasty. The service is very professional. The black Caesar was damn tasty. Looking forward to going to brunch see you next month ck Love my peeps Tom and Joe
We went to Sunday brunch. It was 1 pm still more than a couple of owner before closing time. From the main entrees choices only TWO were available, that was VERY disappointing. Noise levels was absurd.
Great dining experience. Have been wanting to go for a while. Good, inventive food. Some plates were missing something but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it had one too many ingredients. Not sure. Overall, great dining experience and will recommend others to try. Drinks were amazing.

Fantastic experience all around. Food, drinks, and service were top class. Jack fruit sliders were incredible, perfect amount of heat. Monkfish curry and Shortribs were fantastic. We will be back
My first time at Comfort Kitchen! Love this gem of a restaurant in Dorchester! The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, the diners diverse, and the chefs inspiring. We had a flavorful meal of jackfruit sliders, beef short ribs with yucca and the cilantro rice. Looking forward to dining here again!
The cocktails were unique, tasty and pretty to see. Dishes are original and delicious. Our party had duck, chicken, steak and eggplant and everyone was happy. The spicy sauce with the kelewele was indeed spicy and excellent. Braised greens were silky and delicious.
We were enthused to try Comfort Kitchen, it sounded liked it would be a fun restaurant. The noise was too much. We ate outside. First thing we were told was to be out in 90 minutes, (we were a couple minutes early) not welcoming, if not, unfriendly. There is no tequilla other than clear. For a place that touts its cocktails, I have no faith that the cocktails are good. The waiter said there were two dark tequillas, we ordered one one the rocks. An unordered margarita arrived, then a clear tequilla. We had spent a significant amount of time discussing the requested dark tequilla, before being served the margarita, then the clear tequilla. The salad, the eggplant and the short rib appetizer were good. The duck was excessively overcooked without evidence of the advertized jerk spice, the rice was overcooked, like oatmeal. It was a good thing that the portion was so small. The two deseerts were ok. We did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling. We won't be back.
Came for brunch. Had a 1pm reservation, but unfortunately, they were out of almost half of your menu by then, so options were extremely limited. I ordered the omelette that ultimately came as an egg scramble. Mind you, it took more than 45 min for our food to actually come out. So, I ate it without question. It was just ok; definitely something I could make at home. I did ask my waiter at the end of my meal if the omelette dish is typically a scrambled egg dish - he said no, shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I also had the plantain pancakes which were really good. Overall, my experience was fair. Next time I guess I'll have to come earlier to have the option for the full menu? I hope it doesn't take so long for the food to come out next time.
