The chacarrero came too fast like someone ordered it and never picked it up and they sent it to me. The bread tastes old and the guacamole is already turning black.

I grew up in Allston and have grown up frequenting La Mamma’s. it’s an Allston staple if you know how to navigate their VERY ROBUST and growing menu!
Their empanadas are delicious - thing a delicate crisp flaky pastry with the perfect amount of chew giving way to steaming hot ham and cheese, corn and bechamel, or spinach and cheese.
they also do a bang on job with a steak and cheese sub, classic, with grilled onions and whatever condiments you like.
their pizza is solid - especially after a night out drinking at the sil or at the model.
I haven’t branched out into trying their seafood platters or pupusas - I’m always too drawn back in for my childhood favorites. the prices are still comparable, which is hard to find in this economy. I hope never to come back to Allston and not find La mammas waiting for me

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE, I got FOOD POISONING FROM THIS PLACE. I ended getting a virus called Shigella because they cooked my food with dirty hands. This place needs to be shut down. There is an investigation going on for it.
The owner is extremely rude to life time customers that have been giving him business for over 30 years each worker charges different prices on the same item n amount n the cook is amazing but the owner over charged me and legit refused to help or listen didn't care any bit about a ALLSTON born n breed customer that has n is supporting one of the last standing business in allston from my childhood im extremely disappointed and feel as though Maybe locals should just stop giving this owner any type of business why show loyalty and respected to a place you have gone your whole life to be over charged and screamed at..... NICE CUSTOMER, SERVICE NOT.

Had the mushroom empanada. It was still frozen in the center but tbh it tasted amazing. The people there were nice.
$3 slices are good!
Terrible pizza with no flavor. Very dirty kitchen with no gloves being used when handling food. Place use to be great like ten years ago....

I cannot believe they are still in business! I used to live around the corner on Quint and would go there often. This was almost 20 years ago! They always had decent food at a good price. Customer service was always great. Glad to see them still going!!!

Great late night place. Where else can you get pretty good pizza, Chilean empanadas, Italian subs, pasta, and fried plantains all at once? The staff is friendly (even if they fight amongst themselves, probably because the menu is absurd). Going back for the Chilean hotdogs.
