Far, far overpriced for both the quality and quantity of food. That pretty much sums up the several times I have been there.
La Piazza at Eataly is a great spot you can just grab a drink and some light bites or more - no reservation needed! We loved stopping by for a glass of wine and some olives on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely friendly service!
Way overpriced, very small portions. Bread was $5 (not disclosed when it was offered to us). Ended up paying $38 including tip for half the bread and a small plate of very salty ravioli without a drink. The pasta itself was good and tasted fresh but nowhere near worth it.
Vibes aren't great, felt a little like a cafeteria, loud and tables packed together but a nice big skylight. Service was okay, friendly enough but not attentive. They seemed understaffed.
Don’t go there, just don’t. Our pasta and salmon and especially gnocchi were tasteless. Portions average and below average with far too elevated price for this food. It wasn’t bad, but plain, tasteless and pricey. Go buy pizza at the takeout counter it would be hundred times better
We bought some cheese few days ago. They gave us it in two packages , both reporting expiration dates April 17. Yesterday it was March 28 and we opened the two packages. One of them showed some signs of mold, the other one was 40% mold covered. Because they are within expiration date ( another 16 days untill “expiration date”) we returned them to the store. We discovered they are not refundable due to their policy as the two packages had been unwrapped. Of course, you cannot see the mold if you do not unwrap them as they are wrapped in paper that doesn’t allow to see through it. They tried even to say that their fridges are better than customers’ fridges (even though we have best Whirpool branded and well functioning fridge). It is worth saying that whatever grocery stores usually make changes or refund when this happens. What is then the meaning of this review?
It is simple, as they do not refund . Because their common packaging in the store may help produce the mold we found , their packaging doesn’t fit the expiration dates they report.
So, in the future, we will have to buy very small amounts of our preferred cheese. You may even consider the idea of eating such cheese when you are still in the store if average customers’ fridges are not reliable (which is laughable of course ).
We are trashing ours and it is sad because they were not cheap. Unfortunately, due to such “policy” of the store, our money was sent on a one way trip . Good to know !
(If their expiration dates are not guaranteed by their packaging they may either report earlier expirations or consult experts to improve their packaging materials and procedures )
Extremely overpriced for charged $8 for a bottle of water that costs $3 in any other store. Had to request for the same thing multiple times from different waiters and it still took almost 20 minutes. Would not recommend.
Food was very underwhelming and overpriced. Presentation was also sad, service was very basic. For the price I know I could have had a much better experience and meal elsewhere.
Do you like Italian food?
Then Highly HIGHLY recommended!
We loved the dishes and the desserts even more! The Tagliatelle de La Nonna with ground beef and tomato sauce was amazing!
Very good service too!
Me and my friend had dinner before a concert at Fenway. I did not expect the service to be that poor and yes it was busy and we had a reservation. We ordered a salad, and pasta. Pasta was served 3 mins after salad and I did not have my drink yet. My mushroom pasta was good. My friend had lasagna and it was overcooked and felt like it was warmed up in a microwave. We were still eating when a waiter asked if we wanted to move a table (why?!). Overall, I would say it does not worth the money and it was a very awkward experience.
We have been going to Eataly for years. Portions got smalller and prices higher. Pappardelle al ragu di funghi was quite small for its price. There is also no bread service which was a nice touch in the past.
Restaurantji Recommends
We had a reservation at 2:45 on a Sunday, so it was very busy and noisy. As time went on( we were finished by 330) it had quieted down. Our drinks were very good. The appetizers were tasty, although small. The pizzas were phenomenal! The crust was delicious! We also had a stuffed bread special that was very good. Our server was attentive. I feel as though the prices were high, especially the appetizers for the size of them, but we throughly enjoyed our meal.
I had ravioli spinach ricotta and most of the ravioli have a little bit or no ricotta, for the price not as expected, I am pretty sure that I am going to consider this option to eat Italian food or recommend it.
Pretty loud but a very busy Saturday evening so not unexpected. Appetizer (fried zucchini and calamari combo) tasty but sparse for the price. Fettuccine bolognese was perfect - taste and temperature. Margarita pizza was meh - not cooked enough and toppings were almost nonexistent, disappointing.
Eataly Boston has several restaurants and this was my first time dining at this one. The food was good. I liked the salad. Pizza is neopolitan style. Bar options seemed limited if you wanted a cocktail not on the drinks menu. Gelato cone dessert featured 3 small cones with each having a different flavor.
The music was very loud. We ordered the bruschetta which was good, the caponata with burrata was also very good. We ordered 2 Pollo alla Milanese that were bland, despite adding salt and lemon it was tasteless and they were served with Mediterranean sauce which was essentially mayonnaise. The Panzanella salad came with stale croutons. Overall it was a disappointing meal for all 4 of us.
