this is my third time here visited when they first opened the food was great. tried again soon after and thought maybe i went to early in the day and possibly got chicken from the previous day as it didn't seem fresh. Normally i go to another place further down hyde park ave but didn't feel like driving to far so stopped here again ... ordered a chicken quesadilla ... the meat was dry i got guac, sour cream, pico and it came with lettuce.... just a very dry unappetizing meal i wont be back again. very unfortunate as they are the closer option.

Good food, but online order took 45 minutes longer than the time listed. We tried calling but they don’t pick up the phone or their phone lines don’t work.

The average wait time for an order placed at the restaurant is ridiculous! If you don’t mind waiting for the apocalypse to come before your order is complete then this is your spot, they seem to care more about pick up orders than in store customers for whatever reason, on average wait time for a order placed inside the restaurant can be over 20-30 minutes.. Apart from that the food is actually good. It would be best to place your order online or via phone before coming in though..

Delicious Mexican! A very popular spot on the junction with a stream of orders coming in. We stopped by on the way back for a quick bite and the service was prompt, the good was delicious and reasonably priced too. Bonus high chairs available for the little kids too. Keep up the great work! 👏😎🌯🌮🇲🇽
Kid-friendliness: Good high chairs available

LA TAQUERIA: MY GO-TO SPOT!
Their cakes are scrumptious, and you can customize your order with your favorite toppings. My personal favorites are the burritos and quesadillas loaded with black beans, cheese, and rice. Their drinks are absolutely delicious! Watching your food being prepared through the glass - it's like having your own personal chef! A parking lot makes it easy to stop by whenever you're hungry.
La Taqueria is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food.
Parking: Ample parking spaces are available in the adjacent lot, including accessible spots. Street parking is also an option.

I am disappointed to leave a 2 star review as I've been here a few times and really enjoy the food and the generous portion size, at least with the chimichanga.
Today, about half way through the chimichanga, I bit into something hard pulled out half a toothpick. I first felt astonished. Then lucky that I didn't pierce and damage my tongue and mouth. Then grossed out and tried to take comfort in that the toothpick looked snapped rather than chewed on. My last stage was confusion- where did this toothpick come from and how did it get in?!
I'd like to go back because I genuinely like the food and I am sure this is a one off. But there was a toothpick...
