La Voile offers a cozy and trendy atmosphere with excellent service and classic French cuisine. The portions come with the fine dining territory, but the quality is outstanding.Extended: Nestled in a charming setting, La Voile exudes an air of elegance and sophistication, making it a delightful destination for those seeking classic French cuisine. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance is cozy yet trendy, with stylish decor and a welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the carefully curated wine list to the impeccably presented dishes. While the portions at La Voile may be smaller than some diners are accustomed to, the quality more than makes up for it. Each dish is beautifully plated (though I was unable to capture the excellence on camera) and bursting with flavor.I would like to note that the liver pâté was served generously but with a slight oversight in the amount of accompanying bread. However, this minor hiccup did not detract from the overall excellence of our meal. The menu at La Voile offers a range of classic French dishes, each prepared with care and attention to detail. From the rich and decadent sauces to the perfectly cooked proteins, every bite was a delight.La Voile is a charming restaurant that excels in both service and cuisine. While the portions may be small, the quality is exceptional, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate quality over quantity.

Way way way too expensive. Feels like a corner cafe, but tries to treat itself as a fine dining restaurant. It just comes off a bit tacky

We came here for restaurant week special. The food quality is good but taste is mediocre. Dessert is not satisfying due to its limited selection. Don’t order the Floating Island. Service could really use some improvement. I went to the one in Brookline before and had a great time so it’s a shame that my experience with this one during restaurant week is so disappointing.

The food was five stars, very good, I had Le Blanquette and it was delicious. The atmosphere was four stars because it is very cozy and I loved the sailboats theme, but we were a large group and scrunched us into a corner where it was hard to get in or out. The service was three stars because, after being very explicit about being strictly vegetarian and asking what options there were, they served my friend a dish that ended up having meat in it. I'm a pretty lenient guy, but you can't mess up something like that. They did not charge us for it and acknowledged their mistake, which redeemed them a bit.

Mediocre food and rude staff. There's better options for French cuisine nearby. I will never go back.

Excellent french cuisine. The "filet de boeuf" and "boeuf bourguignon" were excellent and you can believe me (I am French and know very well what french cuisine means)! Service was excellent (very professionnal and very friendly). I recommend this restaurant to everyone

Friendly place with a small but well-balanced menu. Good bread, nice choice of wines. A few dishes outstanding, most good to very good. Main fault I have come across is underpowered flavor in some dishes -- a risotto, for example. La Voile can be noisy, especially in an evening when it's full. Some pleasant outdoor tables.

Went for lunch. Shared the cheese plate with a friend and had the entrecote with a glass of bordeaux for my main lunch. The food was fantastic and exactly what I would expect from a bistro in Paris. Quaint setting and great service as well. Would love to come back during warmer months and enjoy lunch on their outdoor patio while people watching along Newbury

I had dinner with my wife and brother. Two of us got the three course menu, and one of us got the Dover sole. The Dover sole and foie gras pate were exceptional, and the rest of the food was very good. The other dishes we had were the beet salad, the tenderloin and the duck, as well as two of the three desserts.
