I entered The Lansdowne Pub as part of a group of nine. I paid the cover charge for my entire group, which included seven women. I spoke briefly with my group for approximately four minutes, then stepped outside for fresh air. When I attempted to re-enter, the security staff member (identifying himself as “Zeus”) stopped me.
He stated that there had been “several complaints” about me but refused to elaborate on what those complaints were or who made them. When I asked for clarification, he responded that “nothing you could say would change my mind.” He also refused to refund the covers I had paid for the group.
I was sober, had not interacted with anyone outside my group, and had only been inside for a few minutes. The only plausible explanation I can identify is that I may have been misidentified, potentially due to my appearance. I am Latino and may have fit the description of another individual.
