Larry J's BBQ Cafe Reviews
The service was extremely slow and was neither friendly or welcoming. The food was below par as they were stingy with the South Carolina sauce which did not taste like any sauce that I had in South Carolina. The counter guy was effusively friendly and creepily flirtacious with other customers but went downright cold, rude, and bitter toward me. I definitely did not appreciate the Uncle Ruckus treatment and do not recommend getting barbecue here. Get a lobster roll instead!
Really good BBQ and chili was good as well lots of meat. Brisket,Pork and burnt ends. Assortment of sauce’s to choose from. Variety of choices on the menu. Outside dining or get it togo.
I ordered a rack and the ribs were dry, tasted like the ribs were cooked a few days ago. Also, almost lost a few teeth when I took a bite of the rock hard cornbread - very unsatisfied!!! I

Larry J's BBQ Cafe is a local restaurant that offers a varied menu with mixed reviews. The establishment is praised for its generous portions, clean atmosphere, and friendly service, although some customers have found the food quality inconsistent. Dishes like burnt ends, ribs, and brisket have not always met expectations, but the potato salad and fries remain standout items. Some reviews highlighted the pulled pork sandwich as needing improvement due to excessive sauce and fat. The sweet potato fries were appreciated and helped elevate some meals. The restaurant’s outdoor seating by the water is a pleasant feature, especially during the summer months, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal. However, the service has received criticism for being slow and inconsistent, and some staff members have been described as grumpy. Despite these issues, the restaurant is viewed as a hidden gem in the Seaport area, where great food can sometimes be found alongside a need for better customer service.
