Legal Sea Foods - Copley Place

We had a reservation and were seated immediately. We did not see a waiter or get a glass of water for more than 30 minutes. When we did get a waiter, he was so rude that a man at the next table intervened to tell him he was too rude to use. The food was ordinary but acceptable. The manager came and waited on us herself, and she was very very nice. She comped part of our dinner which was appreciated. However, just before we left, a MOUSE ran across the carpet a few feet away from us. A memorable experience but not one we want to repeat.

Great value. Good service. Salmon excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Would return.

Very large seafood selection and variations on how it is prepared. My dish of the Artic Char was excellent.

The very best lobster roll ever. Great service at this location. A bit hard to find in a big mall.

First, the waiter was not responsible for any of the problems we had. He tried to be as professional and helpful as possible. We all ordered a cup of chowder and a main course. We asked the chowder be served first and then our main course. They brought the main course first. We got our waiter and he took the food back and then brought our chowder. He told the kitchen to make us fresh food. After several minutes of waiting he brought out food and it was not fresh. It was cold and inedible so the waiter took it back and ordered fresh food. At that time I also asked that the kitchen not include the red pepper flakes in my mussels because they were too spicy for me. The waiter brought us the fresh food and I could not eat mine because the kitchen had not respected my request and included the pepper flakes anyway. I sent it back and did not order anything else. This was not a good experience and it will be a very long time, if ever, before we would come back or recommend to anyone else. It should not have happened. The waiter did remove quite a bit from the bill and that was a show of good customer service but not the point.

Food had to have sat in the window for some time. We had a lobster roll which was cold when served and couldn't tell it had butter on it. The lobster had shells in it. Broccoli was cold. Service started out great and then she just forgot about us. Probably why food sat in the window. We will not be back.

This was exactly what we were looking for. The clam chowder was delicious and the lobster roll was also very good.

Lobster was overcooked wine service was slow ambience no better than a chain restaurant very disappointing

Solid food and drinks. Fisher, our server, was really good. He was attentive without being intrusive.

Food was just blah. Black Sea Bass was dry and flavorless. Our crab cakes had more bread filler than actual crab. The steamed veggies were cold and undercooked. I tried too hard to like it, but he just wasn't good. If it was just me, you would be one thing, but all four members of our party felt the same way.

Nice views at window tables. Food was great. Best calamari appetizer-very tender. Nice size pieces of lobster in the lobster roll.

The restaurant looks old and tired. Time for a refresh. Food was very good. The bread rolls are different than years past, which were excellent. The new ones are very good. Service was very friendly, but slow and inconsistent

A friend was visiting from out of town so I thought Legal would be a great place for lunch. We shared the tuna tataki; it was so spicy, I couldn't taste the tuna. He had a lobster roll, and I thought it had too much celery for $46. I had the lunch combo of petit lobster roll and clam chowder. The lobster tasted strange, not as I remembered from previous visits. Chowder was alright. Service was acceptable. Do not plan to return there again.

The staff were amazing and able to accommodate our large party. The ONLY think preventing me from giving 5 stars across the board was the fishy smell. It's is a seafood place, so not unheard of. This was not the aroma of fresh fish and delicious preparation but quite the opposite.

Food was very ordinary. Stay away from the crab cakes! Sides were large serves but mostly undercooked and tasteless.
