The most rude and inattentive host. We arrived 5 minutes before the hour and she did not want to seat us right away. I went with my parents who are visible over 70 yrs old

Excellent waiter and food was yummy. A bit outdated inside but served the purpose for family dinner

We volunteer for the BAA marathon every year for 18 and dine at Legal Seafood as another yearly tradition. It never disappoints! The food is creative in presentation and taste from start to finish. It's fun to look at other foods as they are delivered to neighboring tables as well. It has become a yearly date and anticipated with much joy!

Has really gone downhill since I used to eat there frequently a while back. The place smelled like chowder slightly gone bad, fish quality was not as high as it should have been, and I didn't feel welll afterward. It's a shame. On the plus side, server was lovely.

There used to be a Legal Sea Food on Long Island, but it closed long ago. Now we only get to go when we're in Boston. It's still a very good, casual, seafood destination. The fish is always the freshest and the option to customize the preparation are great.

I have been to Legal Seafoods in several cities, multiple times, and always had fabulous meals. I trusted the brand. Not any more. Last night, glacially-paced service cost us an hour of sleep ata busy conference where we needed to get up early. The restaurant was perhaps ⅔ full when we arrived for our 8pm reservation. Each time we asked a question, our server vanished for 15 minutes “asking the chef” (one of our group had allergies). I REALLY missed the Cream of Crab soup, which was apparently a COVID casualty. This was really a shame, as I always ordered it at other locations and it was the best I ever had—thick, creamy, laced with sherry, and containing a generous serving of sweet crab lumps. Lacking that option, I deeply regretted choosing the “lobster bisque,” which was overly salty and had a few tiny crumbles of lobster. The ice cream sundae we chose instead of the warm chocolate cake they ran out of was so-so. There are SO MANY fabulous restaurants in Boston that wasting a meal here was an unfortunate mistake that I won't make again.

So nice to have fried gluten free options! I had fried fish and shrimp (one at Copley place one and the airport). The shrimp was the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend! I tried to order a gluten free lobster roll but it was offered to me as a lettuce wrap (I think understood they were out of bread)so I opted for fish & chips during that visit. Service was a little slow at Copley but the server was friendly. Service at the airport was super fast.

OMG. What a letdown. The last time I had Legals is etched prominently in my memory as a superior experience.

Let's start with the chowder. It was horribly watered down. My companion was served a decent crabcake (not too much breading) and a delicious house salad.

So I decided to take the plunge and ordered the fisherman's platter. 4 scallops, 2 shrimp, 3 pieces of fish, and sandy clams that were too salty.

I'm disappointed, however after speaking with the manager, I will try again another day. At another location, obviously.

By the way, Karen, the waitress was phenomenal.

Similar to all LSFs I've been to in terms of food and drinks, they were great as expected. I was less impressed with the service here though. After we received our food, the wait staff all but disappeared on us. It was pretty bad, had to flag down other waiters to get to our server, remove dishes, order more drinks etc. They can do better!

Horrible service
Came in pretty early at 345pm. Asked for a table by the window but just got ignored. Never been checked up and had to ask the waiter for everything.

One item was served late and cold, it was taken off the bill but we still had to remind the staff twice that we still wanted the food and were made feel as if we were inconveniencing the staff with our complaint (after we made the issue known, there was some frostiness from our server, who started avoiding our table)

Food would have been pretty good if not for the awful service.

Chowder was great

Got caught in the rain, arrived soaking wet, no offers of a towel or napkin either, food ok, did enjoy the chowder but the rest was average.

Although I am more of a privately owned restaurant fan, Legal is truly good. They also display where they are sourcing their seafood from which I appreciate. Food is delicious. I have no complaints. They also make my favorite martini in the warmer weather seasons: watermelon crush.
