Very good experience. Our table of three all enjoyed our food. The poke nachos were great. Very creative. My blackened salmon was cooked perfection. Drinks were good, no complaints! Not earth shattering, but very very solid! I would definitely return. Great view as well! Service and food service were on point!
My experience at this restaurant was absolutely wonderful. The food was fantastic, with each dish prepared with great care. The service was impeccable, with staff that were warm, attentive, and generous. It was worth every dollar, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
The front of house tbh was not very friendly and welcoming. They sat us af a round table with a strong breeze wind gust near stairs that were high traffic. Within minutes we asked to be seated somewhere else and the front host female just glared at us and then did have us sit 2 tables down, much more comfortable temperature wise and comfort wise as we were not near the stairs which was a high traffic area. From there our new server was just short with us at times. My husbands fried whole belly clams wee 80 percent strips and a bit dry it was supposed to be a fun family college lunch with my daughter and we for sure made the most of it. Honestly we were disappointed with overall experience for the price.
The location is great, especially if you can get a table with a view of the harbor. The food is good overall. The appetizers are excellent! We had the mussels, calamari (rhode island style), and the burrata. All really good. The fish and chips were just okay. Ordered the angry style, simply dusted with Cajun seasoning. It's kind of disappointing. But overall, I'd definitely go back.
It was an amazing experience! Our waiter John was fun and engaging! He made the evening celebrating my mom a lot of fun! The food was spot on! Delicious, I highly recommend the cioppino! They are also very accommodating with just about any request.
Dining request not met- seated in busy throghfare to bathroom with people literally brushing you as they passed spouse's dinner delivered 10 minutes before mine. Brochure was warm, not hot. Pad Thai quinoa was gummy, curry vegetable had no curry flavor. Hali it was good but small serving. Dessert was wrong and served with no utensils to eat. No manager interaction. Dissappointing
I was disappointed, when I made the reservation I anticipated that we would be on the second floor. We were not due to a private event. If I had known this I would have taken my guests somewhere more upscale.
Legal Seafood Harborside was excellent! Food was great and we sat outside on the water. Our server was very knowledgeable. I had the fried scallops and fries. The batter the scallops were cooked in was gluten free. We will come back for sure.
The host might be of limited cognitive ability or was high as a kite and should probably be removed from front of the house. I was told by the host to stand aside and wait for my reserved table. After he asked for my name. After letting at least two other later reservations go ahead of mine I finally said what gives. He literally started blinking: what's your name? What are you here for? James, the server was great.
We had a very nice time. We both enjoyed our meal and thought it was well prepared. We both had fish. I had the Swordfish and she had Haddock. The doors were open so there was a feeling of being outside. Over all we were both happy we decided to go there.

We were seated right away as we had an Open Table reservation. The server immediately came and asked for drink orders and told us the dinner specials. The lobster bisque was wonderful and clam linguini had a very garlic sauce and 6 clams displayed in a ring around the bowl. The best was the bon bon ice cream balls and the coffee flavor was great.
We had the lunch special which included a lobster roll, french fries coleslaw and a choice of lobster bisque or clam chowder. It was phenomenal and the price was phenomenal. Great great value everything was wonderful!
This is the second time I have ordered the Blackened Cod Loin and it came out Luke warm. Not sure how that could happen. The rest of the meal was very good from the salads to the sides.
Met. My cousin from CA He comes for a month to golf at his club in Salem. He chose Legal because he was familiar with the neighborhood. The wait person made or lunch memorable. She realized we were ‘catching up' and let us us enjoy our lunch. We were sitting at a table just inside and got to enjoy the harbor view. Some reviews say you are just a tourist trap. But absolutely not. I give this spot thumbs up. Thanks and please reward our wait staff. women. Didn't get her name but you can reference. My reservation was under Alice. Synnott Thanks team
Lovey view. Horrible service! Our waiter was not attentive and we are super low maintenance. The cauliflower appetizer was amazing but the remainder of our food was sub standard - especially the Lobster bake for 2. We were visiting Boston for an extended weekend. My husband had never dined at Legal Seafood and I was super excited to experience it with him. Soooo disappointing. We had planned to dine at another Legal Seafood Sunday evening before departing - I immediately canceled the reservation. Regretfully, there are much better options in Boston.
