Celebrated a surprise birthday party for my husband. Jorge and the staff were amazing. They went over and above to make this celebrating a memorable one. I can’t wait to return. Food is delicious.

What an excellent experience. Busy Saturday and found a small table right away. Windows open and the city was filled with life.

We started with meatball appetizer and was fantastic. Delicious home made meatballs.

I had spicy chicken special and it was great. Jess has veal saltimbucco and it’s the best she’s ever tasted. For realz.

Felt like family with an excellent server and the hostess who was likely the owner and full of personality. Cute place and will surely return next time we’re in Bean-town.

This place was great! The staff was so accommodating, making the antipasto for us even though they had run out of some ingredients (because it had been so busy that day)! Delicious drinks (sangria was amazing and the aperol spritz was perfect) and the appetizers we had were great! Would come back again just for the great service but the food and drinks were also worth it!

Oh my gosh! I NEVER leave reviews - and I'm leaving this one while I'm still sitting at the table! My wife and I thought the food was amazing! I had Chicken Maranga, and my wife had the Chicken Brocciolitine. I can't recommend both of these enough!

I was late to the game making reservations in Boston’s North End on a beautiful late summer evening, but stumbled upon a gem just off Hanover Street — still very much in the heart of the scene. When I arrived, I was greeted outside by Carla, the owner, whose warmth and energy set the tone for the evening.

Seated at a window table, I ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio to have ready for our guest from Germany. Carla shared a bit of her journey as a restaurateur, and soon introduced us to Georgie, our attentive waiter.

The food was hearty and satisfying — exactly what you’d hope for from an Italian restaurant that’s been serving for decades. Nothing overly fancy, but comforting, flavorful, and true to its roots. The highlight was the experience itself: the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful service, and Carla’s personal touch (she even gifted us two servings of tiramisu!).

Lo Conte’s is the kind of place that feels real and down to earth — no pretense, just good Italian food and genuine hospitality. A wonderful spot for entertaining guests and enjoying the North End without feeling rushed or crowded.

Food is always amazing. By far my favorite spot in the north end. Chicken Maranga is out of this world delicious.

We had the most wonderful experience! We came in maybe 20 minutes before the kitchen closed, yet everyone was super accommodating and the food was DELICIOUS! This is for some reason one of the few places I’ve been in the North End that serves warm bread (which I thought we be the norm) so my boyfriend and I scarfed that down super quickly. 10/10 do recommend

Lo Conte’s was just okay. The atmosphere is classic and cozy, and the service was friendly, but the food didn’t quite stand out compared to other North End spots. We were hoping for more flavor and a bit more attention to detail in the dishes.

It’s not a bad meal by any means—just not particularly memorable. With so many amazing Italian restaurants nearby, Lo Conte’s didn’t wow us enough to make the “must return” list.

Might be worth a try if you want a quiet, no-frills experience—but if you’re looking for bold flavors or something special, there are stronger options in the neighborhood.

Served spoiled mussels that strongly smelled like Sewage. It was so strong that I had to get up from the table as I was gagging. I don't know how a chef could plate this or a waiter could serve this. This is a Public Health concern and Lo Conte's should be closed until the staff is trained in proper handling and serving of edible food. I received an apology and did not have to pay for the spoiled food, but my complaint was not well received and I was treated with aggression from the managers as if it was my fault that the muscles were contaminated. My first bad experience in 40 years visiting North End restaurants. Steer clear of this one. It's a miss.

Delicious and satisfying- this place left me very satisfied and full. The Cioppino was excellent as was the sangria. A couple places down the street had long lines and this place did not. We’re glad we didn’t wait for great Italian food as this place hit the spot!
