Really wanted to like this place and based on the reviews thought it would be better. Clam chowder was watery and had very little taste, we didn’t eat it. Lobster roll was just ok and wish they didn’t just offer cold. They were out of what our son ordered but didn’t say anything until they brought our food. Best thing we ate was onion rings unfortunately.

This is primarily a take-out place. I visited this establishment which is 6 blocks from my residence. I ordered Fried Clams. Onionn Rings (fried) & a bottle of A&W root beer. It was a Tuesday or Wednesday night about 5:30. The food (batter) on both onions & clams were awful; on the ‘well done’ side of burned. So well done that the batter only tasted burned. The oil in the fryolator must have been the same oil that had been used for days.Terrible representation of “Fried Clams” ! Also, the tiny front end was FILTHY although having eaten outdoors at many Clam Shacks in Rowley, Essex, Harwich Port, MA & Wells & other places in Maine, I wasn’t bothered by that. A travesty. Terrible food. Root beer was good. Will never return. Will urge others to beware. Absolutely awful.

The “Lobstahs” do NOT enjoy being brought out of their natural ocean habitat to be boiled alive, doused in butter, and devoured by Mass-hole slobs.

Yum! The lobster rolls are very fresh and worth the price for how much lobster meat is given. These aren't super jazzed up rolls but good for a quick lobster fix!

Review number 1500 is a great one! What a wonderful way to bring it in!I really enjoyed Lobstah On A Roll. The roll is packed with fresh lobster and though it comes with warm, drawn butter, it is not needed. The fresh lobster takes care of it. It is not dressed up, with mayo or celery or any filler, it is a plain roll served on a challah roll. The challah roll is what makes it special. It also what allows the lobster to be easily digested and to eat the entire sandwich. It is eggy and sweet in sharp contrast to the succulent lobster.Since I have the Yelp app, I also got a free clam chowder with the purchase of the roll. The chowder is splendid. It tastes milky fresh and there are clams in every spoonful. It comes with two packs of oyster crackers, more than enough to make this work.I also enjoyed the cashier, Jessica. She was super friendly and knowledgeable. Very chatty and always up for something. She has great know-how and was a pleasure to chat with. Thank you Jessica for making this a pleasant lunch.Thank you Lobstah On A Roll for making review number 1500 a solid one.

We stayed at the Marriot Hotel at Copley place and wanted to try a Lobster roll. Normally, we would have traveled to a restaurant recommended by our friends but we were tired and didn't want to drive. We found Lobstah on a Roll using Google Maps. After walking 5-10 minutes to get to the restaurant, it was about 5:30pm and it seems like the girl working there was closing up. She said all the fried food was not available because she shutdown the deep fryers already (which was fine because we don't normally eat much fried food). From the beginning, it really seemed like she was not in a good mood (maybe because it was the end of the day). When we ordered our 3 lobster rolls and 2 bowls of clam chowder soup, she didn't hear us because she was listening to her airpods and kind of rudely said "What !?" After we ordered the food, she went about preparing the lobster rolls and clam chowder soup. She really didn't look like she was happy.Later, a woman walked into the shop and she perked-up a bit (she obviously knew the woman and seemed happy to see her). I briefly spoke to the woman and she said it was the best and most fresh lobster roll in town. While waiting in the shop, the place is really oily smelling, my clothes were saturated in deep fried oil smell after I left and I had to air them out (maybe this is why the poor girl was so unhappy). We took the food back to our hotel. The lobster was good tasting. The bread was a bit too much so I poured the lobster into my clam chowder soup (which my son said did not have any clams in it - he loves clam chowder soup).Over-all, the food wasn't bad (I wouldn't say it was the best but it was good)Would I go back again ? Probably if I'm in Boston and staying at the Marriot again. But I might try another lobster roll restaurant just to get a good comparison.the whole thing 3 lobster rolls and 2 bowls of clam chowder was about $133 USD (which seems a bit much but acceptable I guess)
