We had a very mediocre visit to Loco on Sunday 4/21/24.Food:Guacamole and chips - small portion of guacamole for the price paidQueso - They seemed to use regular grated cheese for the queso (as opposed to something which is designed to melt) so it became grainy when melted. It also adhered itself to the cast iron skillet it was served in and was nearly impossible to scrape off, leaving a lot of the queso behind.Enchiladas - I ordered the enchiladas because I was worried about other possible options being too dry. The enchiladas were so dry that at one point I accidentally dropped a bite from my fork and as it fell it bounced off my leg and onto the floor. While some cinnamon is welcome, they went way too far with it. They also put too much chili powder in the enchilada sauce, so the sauce became grainy and once again, didn’t actually help keep the dish moist. The enchiladas came with a side of rice that was good. They also came with a sliced plain avocado, unceremoniously placed on the side. I wish that instead of using plain avocado as a side they instead would put it into the guacamole, making the appetizer more voluminous.Service:When they put our food order in, they just forgot to make one of the entrees (the server told us this explicitly when we asked where the last dish was as all the entrees came out)When we arrived, the sun had just set, so I expected them to turn on the light fixtures above our head. They never did, so it was actively hard to read the menus given how dark it was in our section of the restaurant. They never cleared our appetizer plates (from guacamole and queso with chips) off the table, so when the entrees came out, we had to rearrange things ourselves, and by the end of the meal there was no space left on the table.I had to ask for every refill, including for water bottles that they proactively place on the table when you’re seated. The server never asked if I wanted a box for my food at the end of meal, even though I had about 50% of my food left. Admittedly, I didn’t want to take my bad food home, but I still would have liked for them to ask.At one point during our meal, the volume of the overhead speakers seemed to increase and they were distractingly loud.Honestly, the only time I felt the pacing of the service was appropriate was when the server returned quickly to retrieve the signed credit card receipts.Overall, our experience was completely unrepresentative of what I expected given how high this place’s rating is on Google. Would absolutely not go back nor recommend.

The gluten free churros is why we came... We also ordered tacos (Al Pastor, Grilled Broccolini, Baja Fish, Fajita Shrimp). Along with the Pineapple Guacamole and Street Corn. The food wasn’t seasoned properly I wouldn’t call it Mexican food. Definitely do not go here if you’re craving authentic Mexican or Mexican, in general. Severely lacked flavor, spices and heat. The sauces on the tacos didn’t complement them either. (tartar, etc) Erin, our server was the best part of experience!Dietary restrictions: Vegan & Gluten free options

This is primarily a bar. Guac & chips was good. We ordered two kinds of tacos. A pulled chicken and a shrimp one. The chicken one was dripping wet and had very little meat in it at all...like a tablespoon. The shrimp one was fine. Not excellent. Just fine. If I went again I would order a quesadilla, saw one that went by to another table and it looked better than what we ordered. Nothing was even remotely warm either. Margaritas were good.

Overall average...the positive....avocado & chips that taste good...but the recommendations is to review the plates before leaving the kitchen because the french toast was served overcooked/ burned.

Our server was amazing! I'm horrible with names but he was great. The food was delicious and came out so fast. Guacamole was very fresh & the chips had a good seasoning on them. Great space, very clean.

I got 3 of the tacos brisket, short rib and Baja fish. All 3 were amazing. We also got guacamole to start which was a little small but very good and the chips were fabulous as well. Others at the table got smashed burger which they really liked as well as fajitas chicken and beef. The fajitas were huge and very good. The last entrée was the 3 beef short rib tacos with the dipping sauce which was also very good. The service was great and food came out quick.

A good spot for a team/group outing in a busy Fenway area.Food: The food is decent, if nothing special - the menu is vast and focused on Mexican cuisine. We tried a bunch of different plates to share and ended up satisfied, if not wowed.Drinks: a nice selection of craft beers and the standard bar fare + decent, strong Margaritas.Service: Fast, efficient and nice.Ambiance: It's a big spot, and definitely more a bar vibe than a nice restaurant. It's great for a group outing, though.

The food and service were excellent for our large party of 39 on a Saturday night. Not sure what seasoning they use but it’s some of the best chips I’ve had from a restaurant. Also, the playlist was an absolute banger of an atmosphere.

Our only complaint is that there is actually not hot water available. That seems a bit odd, that it's virtually impossible to get hot water, at a restaurant. Everything else was outstanding here, food, service, ambiance, location, everything but the lack of hot water was super weird in that my partner, she likes to have hot water with lemon with dinner and this not being possible was a first. Very strange indeed.

Venturing into Fenway's culinary scene beyond the usual pizza, sandwiches, and burgers led me to the vibrant world of Loco Fenway. The expansive interior surpassed my expectations, boasting two distinct bar areas--one charmingly nestled in the entryway and the other one towards the back. It was popping on a friday evening with a decent playlist of throwback rap/hip hop blasting within the restaurant that made it a little hard for me to hear my guest or our server. I got the jumpman cocktail which was supposed to be a kiwi cocktail but all I tasted was the tequila. Tantalizing my taste buds with $6 tacos, I relished their flavors, though they didn't quite reach the pinnacle of culinary ecstasy. I would say it's like a more affordable and relaxing option to Lolita's but the quality is a little less but at the same time it is more authentic. The service was amiable, though the pace of ordering and receiving the check did take quite some time. Despite this, the allure of returning to indulge in their tempting $1 oyster offerings lingers in my mind. Prices $$ Food 6 Atmosphere 6 Service 5

It was ok. Wasn't busy but server wasn't particularly attentive. Food was just ok. I suspect when Bartaco opens it will be big competition. The fish taco was wet and not great flavor with what seemed to be a frozen fish stick in it. Chips and French fries all with a barbecue seasoning on them. Burger wasn't bad though!

Just tried to go here. It was barely busy and my friends and I waited 20 minutes without anyone approaching the table. I'm a server in Fenway and this was ridiculous. When I approached the host, she was rude and said there was "only one server on," but I saw 4? Horrible experience and will not be returning :)

Ambience 10/10, great music, service was great for a party of 8. The nachos (not pictures because we ate too fast) were top 5 I've ever had.
