For the price, the food didn't impress me, personally.
Though they are also a bar.
For you, maybe you don't mind. To be fair, I don't really know any good Mexican restaurants in Boston...

The food, drinks and atmosphere really hit here. There is also a secret outside patio you can get seated at in the spring and summer. I really like the vibe out there too.

Excellent overall! Great service, friendly staff. Drinks amazing. Cervice was missing a kick, some lime/salt necessary. But everything else was fantastic. Would definitely go back.
Now that you can reserve bar stools the place lost it's charm and you cant get a seat even when it's 75% full.
Was very excited visiting Lone Star after about 3 years since last time. The food is unrecognizable and was extremely disappointing. It must be that the cooks have changed. Even their birria tacos that were amazing were tasteless.
Our meal was fantastic as was the service. Definitely would dine here again if we were in the area.
This restaurant is always a great choice! My friend was visiting and we made a reservation to make sure we can sit without waiting too long. The staff were all amazing. They were very attentive and quick! The food was amazing as always. Can't wait to make it back here.
this place is elite , the green spicy marg is the best marg ive ever had in my LIFE! and the tacos and wings brougt the bar up higher

I *really* wanted to love this place. The bartenders were great to talk to, the vibe was chill, great movie selection (Jurassic Park). The food was so so tasty EXCEPT mine came out 10mins before my husband's. I refused to eat mine until his came out and at that point, mine was cold. Flavors were great, enjoyed it kinda. Drinks are Boston priced.

I can’t help but feel exhausted walking into yet another “Mexican” restaurant run by white owners. The menu reads like a parody of authenticity watered-down dishes stripped of their cultural roots, marked up to boutique prices, and presented as if tacos and enchiladas just got discovered. Also, real Mexican restaurants give you chips and salsa for free. There is absolutely no atmosphere inside, super bland.
Why are we over it? Because food is not just food. Cuisine carries memory, history, and survival. When white-owned restaurants Americanize Mexican food, they profit off centuries of culture while real Mexican-owned businesses are pushed out, underfunded, or ignored. It’s not just about taste, it’s about erasure. These restaurants often sanitize what makes the food powerful: the spice, the regional variety, the family traditions behind every recipe. Instead, we get “Instagram-ready” portions at double the price, detached from the communities that created them. We are over white people owning overpriced, Americanized Mexican restaurants because it reinforces a cycle: culture is extracted, polished for mainstream palates, and sold back at a premium, while the original storytellers are sidelined. Food should honor the people and history it comes from, not just the wallets of those who rebrand it.
If you really love Mexican food, support Mexican-owned restaurants. They carry the flavor, the history, and the heart that can’t be faked or franchised.

They cater their playlist to whatever concert is happening on Roadrunner that night, you gotta love that
Omg I’ve loved you since 2014 but I love you EVEN more for adding cilantro allergy to your uber eats menu!! T.T I could cry. I literally love the tacos so much I would just order them and take like 7-10 minutes to scrape off the cilantro and onions as good as I could from everything but not having to do that has me elated! Thank you!!!

How do you ruin Mexican food? Ask a Texan to make it…4 tacos an aqua fresca and a side of rice and beans for 50.00? The fish was fishy, the shrimp was chewy and the tortillas were soggy. The beans were runny as well. I don’t mind small portions if the food is worth it but you can get better food at a chilis. Would not recommend.
