3/20/24 I am a frequent diner at Longwood grille and bar and dined there last night. It has always been a great dining experience with good food and terrific staff. This was true until a few months ago when a new, inexperienced manager was hired for the diner shift. The warm and inviting atmosphere has been replaced with a tense uncomfortable vibe. Before this manager arrived the serving staff spoke with ease and compassion to each diner which made the dining experience so pleasurable. Many patients from nearby hospitals dine at the Longwood along with physicians and hospital staff. I have witnessed 3 of the experienced Longwood serving staff engage with children and adults, often remembering their dietary needs. The new Manger has no respect or empathy for the patrons or his own serving staff! I witnessed this at diner last night when he barked out harsh orders to one of the food runners and berated the lead server in front of patrons. His unprofessional manner continued as he condescendingly mocked 2 elderly diners as they attempted to exit the restaurant. They headed for the kitchen area which clearly has a red exit sign above it. He stood against the host counter and watched them walk all the way to the kitchen door before yelling out " Hey, where do you think you're going?" He then ridiculed them for not knowing how to exit. He extended his unprofessional attitude by speaking down to 2 medical personnel wearing scrubs and hospital IDs. I have never seen him approach a patrons table and ask how the service/food is or if he can do anything to make the dining experience more pleasant. Again many of the restaurants patrons are patients or family members and while the highly experienced compassionate serving staff knows how to treat diners, this manager does not! It is a shame that patrons endure his rude condescending demeanor while trying to enjoy a quiet peaceful dinner. I was unable to find a corporate contact as the website directed me back to the restaurant site. I hope corporate reads this review and quickly replaces him with a well qualified manager who knows how to communicate with staff and patrons. If you are considering dining at the Longwood grille I hope you experience a better atmosphere! Terry H.

They charged for coffee, pancake tastes like flour, did not accommodate my request, and I never got my glass of water. Worst experience ever.

Such a horrible service. The staff was rude, wasn’t pleased at all when handed over the breakfast coupon. Waited 15 minutes to be seated, even though the tables were free. For the hotel guests, the breakfast menu was very limited. Still what I ordered, they messed up. Didn’t even serve coffee even though I specifically asked for it. I didn’t even bothered to go there next day.

Un-welcoming behaviour. Not sure if it's Discriminatory.A middle aged Female waitrees, took my breakfast coupon and was judgy for asking what's in the menu, no guidance on what to chose from.Gave me an over roasted Bagel, when I requested for a change she said it's not in her hands on how the oven burns the Bagel and advised me I should pay for, if I wanted anything else.Vegetarian options: Not much options

My in-laws and I stayed at The Inn and Longwood for nearly a month while my husband was in the hospital with a serious medical emergency. While the Inn was great, it was the Longwood Grille & Bar that made us feel at home while coping with a stressful situation. The food selection and quality is great, and prices are quite reasonable for a city restaurant. More importantly is the staff. The host and waitstaff are extremely attentive and caring. Most patrons of Longwood Grille are either hospital patients or family members supporting loved ones in the hospital. The staff at Longwood get to know you and your story of why they are visiting their establishment. They genuinely cared about my husband's condition and would always ask how he was doing. Their compassion did not go unnoticed. I highly recommend Longwood Grille and Bar, whether you're in the area for medical purposes or not - it is totally worth it!

Sit down restaurant and bar in the Longwood Food Court. I had a craving for eggs and bacon. Quite empty on a weekday morning. Immediate service and the food was prepared quickly.Dietary restrictions: American breakfast is gluten free if you skip the toast.

Stayed at hotel for medical visits. Polite staff, seated right away, We ordered, Steak tips which were good, Burger was pretty basic, onion rings were a bit to greasy for me, and chicken tenders were a bit bland, for dessert got the flour less chocolate cake, which was rich and very tasty. Would recommend if you are in a pinch and staying at hotel. Was told to try pizza and club next time we visit.

I wanted to like this place but I just can't get to three stars. I had two experiences here while staying at the adjacent Inn. One evening I stopped in for dinner and had the chicken stir fry. There were just so many onions and peppers there were just way too many! There were just 4 thin slices of chicken. My second experience was an early morning breakfast. It was not busy at all at about 8am on a Thursday. I just could not get anyone to wait on me. When I walked in, there were two men in uniforms that passed me and went through one of the service doors. There is a sign that says 'please wait to be seated' so, I waited. I stood there for about 7 or 8 minutes and then someone finally came by and seated me. I asked for coffee and a menu and it took a while and this lady comes by and throws down a menu and then walks away. A few minutes later she comes by a slides an empty cup on my table, still with no greeting. A few minutes later a man comes by and asks if I want coffee, I said 'yes' and he immediately walks away. He comes back a few minutes later with the coffee pot and pours my cup and then I ask for cream. Before I can tell him what I wanted he walked away and returned a few minutes later with the cream. I got the toasted bagel with cream cheese. It wasn't very good.
