I have had reservations for about 2 months to come here when I brought my girlfriend into town. We were about to head there and the driver had mentioned it was closed. I tried calling the location with no response and no answer. The restaurant even confirmed my reservation and text me to make sure we were going. I call the north end location and they said the back bay has been closed and there is nothing they can do because it's a separate place. I could walk in and wait in line for the north end location but it would be on a first come first serve basis. Very disappointing. I have been to Lucca every time I have been to Boston but apparently time to change it up. Was good when it was open but won't even call people that make reservations to tell them it is closed.

Lucca Back Bay is an awesome, and I highly recommend it. I loved the style and the ambiance of this place. My friend had many items from their menu, but he thinks that their Gnocchi is just simply terrific. The customer service is phenomenal. Done.

I am so angry with this place!!!! Why would you allow for people to make an online reservation when you are not even open!!!! I made a reservation for my friends birthday this past Saturday, January 2nd. I tried to call to confirm my online reservation and no one answered the phone. There was a recording stating that they would be closed "Friday, January 1st and reopening Saturday January 2nd". These arent even the correct days of the week. However, I assumed to go by the dates since all other restaurants reopen the day after the new year. I showed up for my reservation and the restaurant was completely closed. I am so angry. It was a Saturday night in Boston and most places are following the 25% capacity restriction and we had to find the last possible spot available on my friends birthday.

Enjoyed a delicious meal along with impeccable service at Lucca. Walked in on a Saturday night earlier than I had anticipated when I originally made my reservation. The host was more than gracious and found us a nice table with no difficulties at all. The menu had a wide array of interesting choices, food came out promptly (but not rushed).

Our server was great and very attentive to our table! She made great recommendations on the food and wine menu, and was very knowledgeable on their selections. They offered to plate our entrees on separate plates before we could even ask! Aside from service, the food was spectacular and served timely so we didn't feel rushed between appetizers and entrees.

Had planned to go to a concert, but that had been canceled at the last minute. We decided that we would go out and stretch out our “pre-concert” dinner at Lucca. The food was, as always, delicious and perfectly cooked. Our waiter (whose name I don't remember) was wonderful: attentive, patient, knowledgeable, friendly and invisible until he suddenly knew when to appear... One on the best waiters I've met in some time. We had a great night and hope to be back soon.

Nice meal and very good service. Caesar Salad great as was Short Rib. Pork chop was dry. Booked an early reservation, so we could make the Bruins game. Had understood that Lucca was offering the Dine Out Boston special on the Saturday evening ... but no special menu was presented. Should have stayed in the North End where our hotel was located and around the corner from the Garden. I am curious if I am mistaken about the Dine Out special being offered by Lucca Back Bay on Saturday, March 7, or if they neglected to present this menu.

Good Italian restaurant close to BSO/Jordan Hall. Salad, soup & pasta bolognese were good. Did not enjoy one of our ice cream desserts and the server kindly removed it from our bill. Great service and ambience.

Maybe people have had better when they didn't go there when this restaurant doesn't offer prix fixe only (e.g. Valentine's Day).I was there for Valentine's Day where the only thing you can get is a 3-course prix fixe for $75 per person.Appetizers came out super quickly, and they were decent. It was when we had to wait about 30 minutes for our main menus to show up. I were seated at a corner of the second floor, and we were just not attended to.The food itself was pretty mediocre as well. Maybe you get what you pay for, or maybe the experience would've been different if it was on a normal day where one has more things to choose from.

The food here was surprisingly good. Even the green salad was delicious. The rolled chicken was tasty and fairly moist, as was the fish. The wine list was encompasses wide selections of new world and European, particularly Italian wines. Service is a bit too aggressive, both waitress and busboys.

If you have not finished your meal, watch your plate -- it will be snatched away.

Disappointed in my meal. Prior experience at Lucca Back -Bay had been very good, but this time I was served a barely edible pork chop. It certainly was a satisfyingly large chop, but so overcooked I could barely cut it with a steak knife. I should have sent it back, but I don't like to make waves. Probably will go back again, but disappointed this time.

The food was splendid. We shared four appetizers and were very pleased with freshness of ingredients and ideas. For example, the calimari was not breaded and fried but rather served in a very nice red sauce. The salad was a pyramid of nicely sliced mixed dark greens, light greens and purple cabbage.
