We had a wonderful dinner a Mai during their soft opening. The foods good. The service amazing and overall a great night out. We tried a variety of hand rolls and some apps. The fish is definitely high quality in the hand rolls. Our favorites are the Akami, toro, Salmon, spicy tuna and the Duck Foie Gras

Food and service were exceptional quality but quite pricey for the amount you're getting.

The place was honestly over hyped. I went because I saw 85 5 star reviews and to be honest the food was mediocre at best especially for that price. Some of the flavors were actually pretty good but they priced it out like the entire thing was that specific fish or item but uses a lot of Vegs to make it look more than it is. A lot of the items here doesn’t seem like it was thought out for this restaurant and reminds me a lot of matsunori. Kinda like a matsunori copy cat. The aged duck doesn’t take like it is made in store but more of a supplier shipped duck. As for the wagyu. In the menu it says A5 Miyazaki wagyu and I believe it is but the flavor and texture feels like the 35$ or 29$ a pound version that is used in a lot of all you can eat wagyu hotpot places instead of the 50$+ a pound version. Long story short if your here for drinks and vibes it’s a great place to come too but for food there are much much better and cheaper options out there.

If you like creative food in a beautiful space, Mai is a must. The wagyu steak frites were outstanding: perfectly cooked, juicy, and paired so well with the sauces. Cocktails were delicious, too, and the bartenders made the experience fun. The interior is modern and sleek yet warm. Everything felt elevated and special.

That duck risotto is really something! I can't stop thinking about it since I tried it. My server Ben was so attentive and nice, made the experience so pleasant. Great atmosphere for a date night, would recommend to anyone who enjoys japanese/french cuisine. Definitely try the miso butter cod over here. So delicious!

The interior design was very bold and the labubus were so cute. The matcha martini was absolutely delicious and the entrees stuck out to me the most were the aged duck and chicken nuggets with caviar. Excellent service and nice music will be coming back.

CHICKEN NUGGETS ARE A MUST TRY!! 😍😍 the breading is crispy while the chicken is tender. it is super flavorful and the caviar on top gives it a unique taste, that is definitely worth the experience!

Mai is such a great spot in the Seaport. The space is beautiful and the food was even better. I tried the miso black cod and it was cooked perfectly. The cocktails were also excellent and paired really well with the meal. Great for a date night or catching up with friends.

Had dinner at MAI Seaport last weekend and I’m still thinking about it—what an absolutely stunning experience from start to finish.
First of all, the location is prime. Right in the heart of Seaport with gorgeous views of the water and skyline. We timed our reservation just around sunset, and the natural light pouring through the windows made the whole place glow. The interior design is modern and elegant, with a subtle, upscale vibe that feels perfect for both a night out with friends or a special date night.
The service was flawless—warm, attentive, and knowledgeable without ever feeling overbearing. Our server made excellent recommendations and knew the menu inside and out, including the wine and sake pairings, which really elevated the whole experience.
Now let’s talk food—every single dish was a hit. We started with the uni toast, which was beautifully plated and had a perfect balance of crunchy and creamy. The wagyu tartare was rich, juicy, and full of flavor—I honestly could have eaten an entire plate on my own. For mains, we had a few shared plates including the miso black cod, which was buttery and perfectly cooked, and a few hand rolls that were impressively fresh.
What stood out to me was the attention to detail—from the garnish placement to the timing of each course. Everything felt intentional and well thought out. Even the cocktails were spot on—creative but balanced. I had one with yuzu and sake that was refreshing and paired really well with the meal.
The overall atmosphere is refined yet relaxed, and there's a cool energy in the space without it being too loud or too scene-y. It strikes that rare balance of being trendy without trying too hard.
All in all, MAI Seaport completely delivered on every front: food, drinks, ambiance, and service. It’s the kind of place where everything just clicks—and where you’re already planning your next visit before the check arrives.
The hand rolls here are out of this world and they make the best chicken nugget I’ve ever had 🤯

Amazing food and vibe! Tried a bunch of hand rolls that ranged from the basic tuna and salmon ones to the fancy duck foie gras - all delicious. Drinks are thoughtfully crafted for the palette and aesthetically pleasing for the eyes. Definitely coming back to try the wagyu fries and toro handroll next time 🤤

Mai was a great date night spot, especially for a couple in their 20s — we had a blast for many reasons: the vibe was right, there were food options that satisfied both of us and most importantly, the service was EXCELLENT!
I must highlight the service we received by Emily, she was very knowledgeable about the food and drink options at Mai. Her presence and energy was very friendly and approachable— I hope we always see her there from now on! Keep on killing it!
10/10 experience :)
