Amazing evening at Mamma Maria for my daughter's 18th birthday! The lobster agnolotti, rabbit pasta was exceptional, and the surprise made it unforgettable. Highly recommend this North End gem for special occasions.
Amazing food and great service ! The homemade pasta was delicious and dessert was delightful!
Food was amazing, service was iffy, was marginally the longest dinner i've experienced in the north end only because our check took very long to be brought to the table. gnocchi was 10/10 and the tiramisu was 11/10
It was our first trip to Mamma Maria's & my daughter's first trip to the North End ever. We had a phenomenal experience and look forward to go back the next time we visit Boston.
Food was stellar, service was awesome, no complaints aside from wishing they did something for the birthday note we left on the reservation (should’ve asked our waiter to confirm) but outside of that, would 1000% go back!
We eat here every time we're in Boston, with good reason. The inside of the resto exudes warmth. You feel at home immediately. The service, as usual, was perfect. From the warm greeting and the warmth of the interior decor, to the answering of questions, delivering the food, clearing the plates, etc. Just right. And the food, from the ingredients, to the preparation, to the plating, all just so. I decided that I had to have the carpaccio with truffles. My wife had made the same decision for herself. Rarity of rarity: Instead of sharing are separate appetizers, we each ordered the same, ate every bit, and were happy as swine in a common biohazard. I ordered another appetizer to serve as y main: tune tartare. SO GOOD! My wife had the squash ravioli and loved every bite. I did, too, just not as many bites as she had. The wine list is impressive and we were able to fined exactly what we had wanted. (I was under the impression that Mama Maria allowed corkage. Wrong impression! Not at all a biggie and totally understandable given the extent and quality of the resto's own cellar.)
Fantastic ambiance and service. I asked the waiter for his recommendation on what wine to pair with the rabbit pasta, and the Cabernet was excellent.
Food was delicious. They were able to accommodate an addition to our reservation within a few hours of the reservation. 10/10 will be back in June!
Always wonderful! We’ve been dining here for almost 20 yrs. & would highly recommend. Mo makes everything flow seamlessly and is a delight to see each time we visit. Add this to your bucket list - you’ll be glad you did!

First experience dining in the North End. I waited a month for this reservation, and sadly was unimpressed. The atmosphere was nice, very cute place. Service was good, no complaints there. It was the food that was lacking. They brought out bread to start which was dense and did not seem house-made. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I expect ciabatta or focaccia or a nice rustic Italian - this was not that.
We had the Polpette (3 meatballs) for an appetizer, which was very tough and not tender, and also not seasoned well. 2 in our party had the Pasta con Sugo (Bolognese) and the tagliatelle was dense and too al dente. The Seafood Angry Pasta (arrabiata) was so/so. Again the pasta was too al dente and some of the shrimp was overcooked and had an ammonia taste to them.

We were here for a sisters weekend. It was our first night of celebrating my sisters 60th birthday! Everything was amazing!!!! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. The food was Devine! I like to be adventurous so I tried the rabbit. It was delish!!!
Celebrated our anniversary while in Boston at Mamma Maria and had a great meal and dessert. Our waiter was attentive and kind. The tables are really close together which makes it a little hard to get in and out but other then that, everything was great and we'll be back when in the area again.

Visited the vibrant and popular North End in Boston. I chose this restaurant based off reviews and overall was very pleased with the restaurant. Very good food and atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was exceptional but maybe I expect another step at this price range. Also be a little clearer on your dress code. Im a casual guy so I ate dinner with messy hair as well as several other customers.

Our dinner at Mama Maria's was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the moment we interacted with the staff to our last bite, every detail was perfection.
Our evening started with a transportation mishap, causing us to arrive a full 30 minutes late for our reservation. We called ahead, and the staff couldn't have been more gracious or accommodating. They welcomed us warmly, took our coats, and showed us to our table without a hint of frustration. Soon after, the manager approached us with a thoughtful offer: a better table by the window, with the simple request that we finish by a certain time. We gladly accepted. The setting was beautiful, with a window-side view, gorgeous old-world wallpaper, and an ambiance that felt both elegant and intimate.
We started with cocktails—a crisp Sicilian Mule and perfectly made dirty martinis. They arrived with the best bread service I've ever encountered, featuring delicious olives and a flavorful pesto spread that set the stage for the meal to come.
For our starter, we chose the short rib bison gnocchi. The presentation was stunning, with the gnocchi seasonally crafted into adorable pumpkin shapes. The flavor, however, surpassed even the stellar presentation. It was simply superb.
The entrees continued to impress. We ordered the lobster agnolotti and the pasta con sugo. The lobster agnolotti was a delightful surprise—light and delicate, served in a deeply flavored onion broth rather than a typical heavy cream sauce. It was a truly remarkable dish. The pasta con sugo was the complete opposite but equally wonderful; it felt like a grandmother's hug in a bowl—comforting, rich, and lovely.
Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. This meal is one I will remember for a long time. If anyone ever asks me about my favorite dinner ever, my answer will be Mama Maria's in the North End. It was an unforgettable experience.
