Forget the North End. When you want authentic Italian from a local neighborhood spot...go to Mario's.
Everything is homemade. Service is friendly and welcoming. Excellent value...prices are a fraction of what you'd spend at a tourist trap in the North End. Jovial atmosphere, lots of locals eating and laughing and having a good time.
It was our 3rd time and we will certainly be back again.

I love Mario’s. The food delicious and the staff is delightful. My husband and I eat here whenever we are in Boston. I love the eggplant….
Our family had one night together at a nearby airport hotel. So, we had only one night to enjoy a good dinner together. Mario's was a perfect choice: family run, friendly, tasty Italian and vegetarian dishes, perfect timing on service. and waitstaff with a good sense of humor. Prices were just right. Highly recommend this small restaurant if you are staying at an airport hotel. Don't order in, just go there in person!

Great food and even better people. My wife really wanted to try their pesto and was treated to a small cup of it with our bread (it was amazing!). The chicken parm was fantastic! An absolute must visit place!

We did not have a reservation but we’re seated within 6 minutes. The wine was delicious. We ordered Pesto Shirmp and chicken parm. Absolutely the best. Ursula, the owner, waited on us and was a hoot! Atmosphere was inviting and entertaining watching the local people interact. I recommend Mario’s 100%

The food and service was phenomenal. The owner has been in business for 42 yrs and takes great pride in her food! She treats her customers as if they are family! Thank you Nonna and our great server Pat for a wonderful birthday meal! I highly recommend this place!

Used Lyft to get to Mario's since we were staying at airport hotel. My wife had Bolognese & Pistachio Gelato (excellent). I had Ricotta Ravioli with Meatballs & Tiramisu (Very good). Friendly neighborhood spot.
We are visiting Boston and were looking for a casual restaurant not too far from our hotel near the airport. Mario’s came up in our search, and seeing some of the excellent reviews, we decided to give it a try. All I can say is… WOW! What a wonderful, family-run Italian restaurant, with food as good as any we’ve had since a visit to italy! The restaurant is small and comfortable, and the staff is so welcoming. We had a terrific appetizer of bruschetta on thick, fresh bread, followed by the included salad with a lovely vinaigrette dressing. We had veal parmigiana, which was perfectly prepared. A side of homemade pasta was delicious! I can’t even describe the cannoli - heaven on a plate! Finished a great meal with a cappuccino, and we’re so happy to have found this lovely restaurant. Great food, great service, reasonable prices - what more could we have asked for? Go - you will be glad that you did!
Had one night in Boston and Mario’s was recommended by the hotel bartender. It was great. The food was outstanding the service was great. Perfect atmosphere!! Will definitely recommend!!
