Nothing special. Food was just OK. Drinks seemed watered down. The place is in need of an update. Very dated and worn. I'd stick to the pizza and beer or wine if you visit.
I really wanted to like Mast, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. Service began fine, but things went downhill the moment I politely asked if my pizza could be cooked longer — it was woefully undercooked, to the point that the toppings slid right off. When I showed this to Phil, our server, he became noticeably rude instead of apologizing or simply offering to make a properly cooked replacement.
Instead, he suggested I order something else entirely. Then, to top it off, he brought the check with the full price of the uncooked pizza still on it. I said I was only willing to pay for our drinks. He came back with half the pizza price removed, which I still refused. Ultimately, we paid only for the drinks and left.
This was during lunch, and the restaurant was completely empty — that should’ve been my red flag. Between the poor food quality, the attitude, and the mishandling of the check, this is not a place I’ll be returning to.

Had a 4:30 reservation for 6 people for a 7:00 show at the Opera House. Ordered drinks, 3 Sangria, bottle of wine and a Diet Coke. Server came back saying DC was flat so my DIL said regular coke was fine. Server ended up getting DC in the bottle and brought over ( very nice) after 20 minutes or so no other drinks delivered. We ordered a Neapolitan pizza as an appetizer to share and our entrees ( all very reasonably priced) server has to come back and verify my husband's and DIL's entrees 2x. One sangria comes, server apologies for bar being backed up. They are making the sangria to order. Other 2 finally come, no fruit in them (not a huge deal) Usually this is already mixed up in a container, so the delay is strange. About 45 minutes in, all but one entree comes out. I ask about the pizza, which is supposed to be an appetizer. Server apologizes and said she put it in first and doesn't know why it's not ready. Food is decent, but my husband's entree is cold and the tomatoes on his pizza are as well. We opt to skip dessert as we only have an hour til showtime and with it taking almost 90 minutes up til this point we didn't want to chance it. I feel that if they got their timing fixed, this could be a good place.
I absolutely loved MAST'. I came in August and wish I could come back for the deep fried pizza and the classic margarita. Fresh high quality ingredients for a low price for downtown Boston. I definitely do recommend those two dishes! Plus, we got to sit out on the patio and it was in an alley way, cool view for the area! Good eats for sure.

I stopped in as a solo diner on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm. I had to wait a few minutes to be seen by he host, and he told me I could walk around and check the bar for a spot. Fortunately, there was a spot open, and I was able to snag it. The bartender was quite busy, and told me he'd be with me in a bit. After maybe 7-10 min he was able to take my order, which arrived quickly. The gnocchi itself was fine, but I didn't feel like it was anything special. I would eat here again, but probably try a different dish. It was busy, and most people had reservations.

Horrible food, 1h 20 min wait for a salad and mediocre pasta. Staff is wonderful and the work really hard but STAY AWAY! At best a tourist trap!

I cannot rate the food because the service was so bad we left. First the wait person “plopped” down the carafe of water with the dirtiest water glass. It literally looked like it was in the pile to be washed. Then we sat there and watched her take orders from people sat after us, cleaned a table of 12, check out another table and then proceed to clean that table. Sat there 25 minutes and the only acknowledgment we got was a “plopped” down carafe and a filthy glass.

Water had something floating in it, no biggie they brought us a new one. Ordered the paccheri allo scoglio, either the clams or mussels were definitely expired/spoiled. Won't be coming here again, was so nasty. They didn't even give a refund and I now have food poisoning, so nauseous. Menus could use some work, was rough to look at and disorganized.

Went for the first time early Saturday evening: three adults two children. We ordered two pizzas, a lasagna and a pasta carbonara. The pizzas were good. The lasagna was a little soupy but tasty. The pasta carbonara was delicious, but the portion size was minuscule. I wouldn’t even consider it as an appetizer nevermind an entrée. The service was very good - no complaints there. The atmosphere was ok for a casual meal, but a little noisy. We ordered two desserts, which were OK nothing special. I doubt that we will return. There are too many good restaurants in the Boston area and I would not rate this as one of the better ones

Incredibly poor experience. We were seated 10 mins after our reservation and it took another 10 minutes for the table to be cleared. Had to ask another employee to actually clean the table. Delivered cutlery and water glasses 30 minutes after sitting down. I do feel for the waitstaff because they were friendly while being clearly understaffed. I had the vongole and my husband had the lasagne. He enjoyed his dish but mine lacked flavour. Would not return.

Great Neapolitan pizza. Not quite the perfection of Pasquales pizzeria napoletana in Wakefield RI but easily a second to his pizza. Perfect carbonara. Perfect meatballs.
Marco has an incredible restaurant! The food was all handmade, servers with social and kind, Coupdnt have asked for a better Italian Dinner in Boston!
this italian restaurant was amazing! i’m disappointed that people in these reviews did not have the same experience. everything was hot and fresh, and the wine was great.
