Despite walking in around opening time the restaurant had only a partial menu. I wanted fried catfish and they had none. They lost around $100 that day. Disappointed.

I got haddock with greens, smash sweet potatoes and potato salad. The food is great ? ? definitely enjoyed everything I've bought and there's homemade ice tea. Try shrimp etouffe it's marvelous. Run ?‍♂️. Down there it's worth it. You'll never be disappointed, food and customer service bomb ? diggity.

I had the roast chicken wings dinner that came with collard greens and red beans and rice I recommend the chicken wings and the greens the pot liquor was all over the bag and on my floor and countertop not so much the red beans and rice needed more seasoning it was kinda bland my husband liked the chicken and sausage gumbo but the sausage was little pieces of diced sausage the chicken pieces were a good size we wanted the banana pudding but they ran out so we got the carrot cake instead we both highly recommend the Cheesecake Factory Carrot Cake I know that's not from scratch but it's better than this one and that's not from scratch we're going to try the shrimp and grits next go around

I ordered take out. I wonder why they don't put the same energy into take out food like they do when you are coming in dining. So I ordered pork chop with cheesy grits and mac n cheese. The pork chop was hard and the cheesy grits tasted sour. Like it was left out too long and went bad. The mac n cheese was decent no much flavor. I also order the cajun wings and garlic smashed potatoes and grits again . The cajun wings was just regular wing with hot sauce on them. The garlic smashed potatoes was distasteful . Sour as well and I threw those away and just ate the wings afterward got a tummy ache this is insane . Black business should care about what they are producing it's not all about the money if your heart doesn't go into something maybe try a different career path. I never understood how someone can come up with the idea to open a restaurant and don't know how to cook and cook with love that food was the worst " Soul food" i've ever had

I had an opportunity to meet the owners of the restaurant! They were extremely kind, and offered us free drinks while we waited for our food. I ordered the chicken wing dinner which was fresh. They were out of the sweet potatoes, so I end up getting the greens and Mac & Cheese. Both of those sides were really good. The portions are a good size. When I’m in Boston again I will order from here again!

Extremely disappointed ordering from this restaurant, first time. Muffins were missing, jambalaya was way too spicy to enjoy (there is a mild option also), ended up throwing it away, and banana pudding was frozen, had to put in the microwave to soften it. Over $40 down the drain. First and Last time.

My father and I stopped here for the the first time last week to get some lunch. Let me start off with saying the people inside are Absolute Sweethearts. They were very patient and polite with us from the moment we entered the door. They definitely put smiles on our faces. We ordered the chicken wings dinner, jambalaya, shrimp pro boy and collard greens. The food was made freshly for us. My parents loved their wing dinner and jambalaya and I thoroughly enjoyed my po boy! If your ever in Roxbury and feel like getting something fresh and a bit southern I recommend here

Chicken was pretty good. Baked Macaroni and Cheese was alright, could use a bit more seasoning. Collard Greens were good but I couldn't taste or see the smoked turkey that it claims to have in it. Black Eyed Peas and Rice was dry and not great. Wouldn't recommend. Smashed Sweet Potatoes was alright. Definitely on the lighter side of sweet (which is a good thing to me). Corn bread came with it. It was alright. Overall the meal was okay, don't know if it's worth the money though.
