The food was average at best. We got the prix-fixe menu with wine pairing. The food presentation was good but the taste was lacking. The wine pairing did not make sense and the only course where it complimented the food was dessert. We did have a cocktail which was delicious!

100000% recommend. Food was so intricate and yummy, service is incredible, and the chef delivered the main course with enthusiasm.

Wonderful meal at Mooncusser this evening including wine pairings. I enjoyed every dish. I particularly appreciated that they are willing to challenge guests' palates with spice, as they certainly did with their ceviche course and their crab course.

If you love amazing food you can't get anywhere else book now before you miss out. We sat at the bar and loved every minute of it. The bartender gave us the back story on the food, wine and so much more. A truly memorable experience.

A friend told us that this is the best seafood place in Boston, so we decided to try it. The food was absolutely wonderful! The wine pairing was interesting as well. Would definitely come

If you love seafood you will love this place. A foodie delight. Savory donuts with halibut butter was insanely delicious. Creative genius shoes in each plate. Complex, layered flavors keep you wanting more. Great value for quantity and quality of food. I will be back soon!

My wife had what I would describe as the worst table in the dining room: a two top next to the stairs without a view out the windows. I only mention this because it was something I noticed in passing as we were sat, and didn't think about it again because the whole meal was so lovely, and the whole dining room is somehow crisp, cozy, classic and modern at the same time in a way that just sort of falls into the background. The same can be said of the service. Friendly, informative, and efficient. The only thing I thought about during our meal was the food, the wine, and the company. My wife and I tried everything on the menu (an easy feat as each of the 7 courses provides at most a choice between two options) which is just the way I like a tasting menu. We spent just over two hours in the dining room, never felt hurried, and never felt like we were waiting. Lovely plating, delicious and interesting flavors, textures and preparations. I understand the menu changes pretty frequently, but for what it's worth some favorites were the snails (to my great surprise) and the scallops. It also felt like the perfect amount of food. Also of note, the “wine” pairings were really excellent, and just as exciting as the tasting menu. They included a French (Norman) cider, some really delicious and varied wines, and closed with an unfiltered sake with my dessert. Worth every penny, and really complimented the meal. Each delivered to the table by the sommelier. And even though I find the whole “tire company” rating system pretty silly and pretentious, I will agree that if Boston restaurants could get stars Mooncusser would most certainly deserve one.

We had a truly great meal. Every single dish was packed with flavor but very balanced. flavor combinations were surprising but delicious. The wine pairings were on point and interesting. Service was well timed and smooth and everybody was very friendly. We really had a great time and I highly recommend it!

I had a reservation but they were full. It was embarrassing to be refused. I just wanted to have dinner. Strange and shocking.

Definitely in the vicinity of 1 Michelin star. The service and atmosphere are relaxed and attentive, but not stuffy. The food is very good, with a few standouts: the snapper appetizer, scallops main, and desserts were excellent. The pasta main was a disappointment: too al dente and spicy, and in general, we found most dishes to be on the spicy side. So, I would say 5/5 hospitality, 4/5 food. Dinner took about 2 - 2 1/2 hours, and they were happy to accommodate our needs on that. Service was very attentive but not particularly warm; no mention of the occasion we were celebrating or any special treats from the chef or anything like that. Overall, a great option for a special occasion.

The food was scrumptious, elegant in the menu format to elude complications. Clayton was fantastic, attentive without intrusion. The balance of activity and quiet was perfect for a very meaningful four person conversation while enjoying!
