Incredibly cozy and proper pub that doesn’t feel inauthentic. Amazingly smooth draught beer, and a lively energy with Irish folk music. A must visit if you enjoy an Irish pub

My wife and I were in Boston for 3 days this weekend , and we found this place on our second stop. As soon as we walked in there, we felt the amazing atmosphere of all the people around. We also met some amazing people who we invited to sit with us because the place was a 100% full. They happen to be from Australia, even though the guy was originally from Boston. We had an amazing dinner and appetizers on the first night there. And then the next day we came back for lunch and had an amazing bartender named Ro. And if that wasn't enough, we came back Sunday morning for breakfast. as far as I can see, this is the only place to go if you are in downtown Boston, hands down. We also loved the live music. Great little hole in the wall bar! Gets packed real quick. Didn't have food but I think they serve food. Live music every night.

Warm comfort food for sure! Everything was delicious. The Irish sampler was perfect and it could feed two. Yum!

We were looking around for a place that wasn't closed or very busy in this busy area of Boston. We came across This joint, which I had originally bookmarked for breakfast. All tables were full and we couldn't go to the bar because we had the little one with us.
We were seated as soon as one of the parties left. Their Irish beer selection were impressive (in tap): Kilkenny's, Murphy's, Harp, Smithwick's, Dublín city, and Magners. I ordered Smithwick's and Dublin City's, husband had a classic Guiness and a black and tan.
Thinking that this would be our last meal of the day, we over ordered: Irish grill and Irish sampler. While waiting for the food, a man started playing some classic Irish songs. I'm guessing they were classic because a lot of the patrons started singing along. The ambience felt very family friendly, and since the place is small, it felt cozy.
We tried to finish as much of the food as we could, but couldn't handle all the volume. The Irish grill alone would've been enough. I'm glad we were able to try a little of everything though, gave us a good taste of this place.

My wife and I visited Ireland a year ago and have been wanting to relive this experience at an Irish pub in Boston. Mr. Dooley's was just what we were looking for. We went for lunch and really enjoyed it. The interior reminded us of Ireland, the food was great (my wife got steak tips and I got Irish curry), and the service was quick and good. We also saw that they have live music so we plan to go back for that.

Great Irush bar in downtown Boston, and unlike The Dubliner and The Black Rose, they serve Irish Fry all day and everyday. The bar lady, Liz, an amazing bartender, fast and nice. Highly recommended by my Irish husband.
