We were catching a concert at MGM on a very busy Friday and were lucky to find Nagomi Izakaya. We easily got a seat at 6pm and were placed at a beautiful table for two in a serene setting. My partner is operations manager at Brooklyn Kura sake brewery, so when my dad spotted their “Blue Door” on the menu among some other fine selections (BK’s partner brewery Hakkaisan, Dasai), I was very pleased. We of course shared a bottle. My dad is an uni freak and fortunately Nagomi has a whole uni rice bowl on the menu. It did not disappoint. He is still talking about it. He got a whole box of fresh Japanese uni atop a bed of perfectly seasoned rice. In New York that would have run him at least $100 and here it was less than half that. I got the unavoidable Nagomi special don which was another rice bowl that had all the best things about planet earth atop. Truffle, caviar, ikura, toro, uni, fresh sashimi… I was in heaven. And again, with something that in NYC I wouldn’t have batted an eye if I’d been charged $100 for it (I live there now, originally from NH, and I always knew Boston sushi was better…). I was full off my glorified chirashi bowl, but my dad was like a kid in a candy shop after the uni bowl and kept ordering his particular favorites that he can’t get in NH - hamachi hand roll, futo maki, ika sushi … and of course ice cream. He’d never had mochi before, so we ordered two mochi ice cream plates which came with three flavors. He’s a convert now. And he’s already trying to bring my mom back to this splendid find of a restaurant, tucked away just enough, but not too far at all from the other Fenway hullabaloo. Come for the sushi, obviously, but also come for the other Japanese specialties on the menu.

Overpriced. Portion size was small. They added an extra $12 fee which was not shown on the menu. Stated that it’s related to their uni food source during summer. Should have included a notification on the menu instead of increasing the price while taking customer’s order. Food quality was mediocre. Staff directly assumed we speak Chinese.

I celebrated my birthday here and honestly had a rlly good time. Everything came in a timely order. Our drinks were refreshing and I got a great buzz from them…That mango one was the best in my opinion, strawberry mojito was rlly good as well. A bit on the sweeter side. But I love the lighting in this place, it’s very dim and it’s kinda peaceful. But I bet that depends on the time / day you go.

Our sushi was actually really good. I could plow through what we ordered myself. But yeah I really enjoyed myself and would definitely come back.

Good for a date, good to meet with friends, good to have sushi with the fam. Pretty wide range.

Service was efficient and food came out at a reasonable time.

The food was great until I saw a rat here. They gave us a $15 gift card for seeing the rat. I have never seen a rat so big in my life. Is that normal to have rats in Boston at a restaurant? The server was amazing, but one of the sushi chefs was rude after I told them I saw a rat. Not my fault I saw a rat in the restaurant. We are not from Boston and this was not a great experience, especially for the price we paid for our food.

Went there with my friend last Saturday. She ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, and I ordered the Nagomi Don. The beef in her fried rice was extremely chewy, def not wagyu. The so called Japanese uni on my Nagomi Don was greyish and it tasted fishy and very bitter. So I let the server know. She gaslighted me by saying “you never had Japanese uni before? They are supposed to be bitter” I told her “I’ve definitely had Japanese uni before, and it’s supposed to sweet with a orangey color to them, not this fishy, bitter and greyish thing.” The server then asked me to scoop them out of my bowl so they can exchange the uni for me. They came back with the same greyish fishy uni but took my truffle away and didn’t bring it back lol we’ve both lost our appetite and just want to eat around the super chewy beef in the fried rice and the rest of the sashimi without the uni. And by the way the minced tuna in the donburi was disgustingly fishy. I will stick to getting hand rolls from Matsunori from now on. They have real fresh Japanese uni and excellent service.

I had the salmon sushi lunch special. Given the quality and quantity of food, the price is a little bit too high.

I have dined here before and had great donburi bowls, sushi rolls, and fried rice here before. I recently got their signature omakase for 1, which includes a nice assortment of menu highlights and quality sushi for a fair price. I really appreciate their expansive menu with well-prepared dishes.

Their sushi is very fresh for the most part. However, I felt that some of the sashimi in the omakase set was sliced too cold, so it tasted like it came out of the freezer. The negi toro roll with caviar was amazing. The aburi sushi was excellently smoky with great accompaniments that gave each bite a nice, bright finish. Although I don't think the fish and rice texture were to omakase standards, I appreciated the variety for its price point.

The restaurant has a great dining atmosphere, incredibly polite staff, and cooks traditional dishes very well. One could thoroughly enjoy a dish as simple as miso soup here! It doesn't disappoint.

Nagomi Izakaya is an absolute gem that exceeded all expectations! From the moment we sat down, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. We indulged in a range of dishes, including the wagyu beef scallop, roasted wagyu beef maki, chirashi don, and the torched toro and uni hand rolls, and each dish was an extraordinary delight. The attention to detail was impeccable, with flavors and presentation executed to perfection.

The staff was not only attentive but also exceptionally knowledgeable and eager to help, enhancing our overall dining experience. Every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication. To top it all off, the pricing was surprisingly reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. If you're seeking an unforgettable dining experience with top-tier cuisine and warm, inviting service, Nagomi Izakaya is the place to be. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the overall vibe and the mood of the restaurant! I thought it went well with the cuisine you guys provide in the restaurant. I also really liked that some dishes were prepared in front of the bar, where the food preparation process was visible to the customers. I think it gives that trust factor that you guys are providing the best for the customers by trying not to hide anything.

Nagomi has the best sushi don in the area with freshness, quality, and taste guaranteed. The price might feel too expensive, but given the quality, it is reasonable. The restaurant is very tidely organized and they have excellent customer servicing.

My partner and I came here for dinner on a Friday night, walked in without a reservation and were seated right away. We got some unfiltered sake and sparking sake from the specials menu and both were fantastic. We ordered the pork gyoza, spicy edamame, and shishito peppers as appetizers. The gyoza and edamame were amazing and the shishito peppers were solid, but probably wouldn’t get them again. The menu is massive with multiple omakase options, sushi, sashimi, maki, and Korean/japanese entrees. We ordered the sake salmon sashimi which was superb. The medium-fatty tuna was also amazing. The torched toro special maki was one of the best maki rolls I’ve ever had. Overall we will back back to try more of this menu. The service was very good and prompt and the vibe is very nice as well.
