Waited 30 minutes for a dozen oysters.
They were good oysters, but the restaurant was barely 1/3 full at the time.

drinks are horrible. friend got a chicken quesadilla and they brought it out COLD. the chicken that is supposed to be in the chicken cesar salad wrap is supposed to be cut up chicken cutlet and it was definitely not. overall horrible service.
GPS couldn’t even find this place.
It's not Open Tables' fault, but we were so looking forward to dinner at 26 North but when we arrived, the door was locked. We were guests at the Bostonian Hotel where the restaurant is and the Hostess told us that the restaurant was closed due to an HVAC issue. It was really weird because we walked past the door to the restaurant all day and there was no sign indicating this. It was a later dinner and it caused us grief on a hot night to try and locate another restaurant and the hotel was not very helpful. The Hostess did say it might be open in the morning for breakfast. It wasn't and when I asked if the hotel had laid out any coffee, they said no the restaurant does that and since they are closed no one is doing. Really poor initiative on the part of the Hotel, not the restaurant, although someone could have let OpenTable know so they could cancel our reservation within a reasonable amount of time to make other plans.
We had a Valentine Day reservation and were seated quickly. A person took our drink order quickly (seemed like a bartender not a server), but when we ordered from the valentine pre-fixe menu, he seemed confused. Over an hour later, our simple appetizer arrived. It was good but nothing special. We explained that we been waiting for a long time and had a show to see at the Garden. the staff person said “I don't know I will check.” We saw people order, eat, and leave while we continued to wait. After 90 minutes and still no dinners or information on when they would come out, we left. The restaurant was not full and seemed well staffed so no clue why we were never served. Our first Valentine's Day date in 8 years and we ended up having to get pizza somewhere.
Service was appalling. On valentines day, one should be able to sit back and enjoy their night but our experience was far from. Seemed like every other table was unhappy and were having similar experiences, as were others on Google reviews I read, unfortunately after the fact. We stayed at the adjoining hotel so this was a matter of convenience. Appetizers were served at the same time as the meal, with our sides arriving about 5-10 minutes after. Food was not really good at all, especially for the insane prices. After food was given by someone other than our server, no one ever returned to the table to check on things, refill drinks, etc. We wanted a round of drinks for about 30 minutes before giving up and then walking around the restaurant chasing down someone to give us our check. They added a 20% gratuity to the bill which was not listed anywhere on their paper printed menu that we saw. Makes sense as to why the service was so atrocious because they already knew they'd be making money regardless. Gross staff and food. Don't recommend. This is Boston, there are a thousand delicious options that deserve your hard-earned money.
This was literally one of the worst dining experiences I've had in my entire life. There were 6 of us and I had made an early reservation (because we were going to a comedy show that night). Considering that it was a reservation for 5:15pm (even on Valentine's Day) I didn't think there would be too many other people. There were maybe 2 or 3 other customers when we got there, and they acted surprised when we arrived. Then they sat us at a table that might as well have been outside because the wind was just coming RIGHT through the windows. It took over 15 minutes to get an order of drinks. Then we ordered our food, which was just an absolute mess. We waited over an hour for some of the food, the apps were coming out with main dishes, we were brought multiple wrong dishes (the waiters were just bringing out mass amounts of food at the same times and putting it down hoping/guessing they were bringing it to the right table). Many of the dishes were cold. No one ever checked on us, asked us if we wanted more drinks, etc. They had a prix fixe menu with all items from their regular menu that they up-charged even more. We had stayed at the hotel attached to the restaurant before and had a really nice experience; however, both locations were absolute atrocities and I will never stay at the hotel nor frequent that restaurant again. Don't waste your time, money, or sanity. Find literally any other place to eat- or stay.
I made a reservation, got a confirmation but the restaurant was closed. Thank you for nothing.
The app made us reserve a table for 8 people, BUT when we arrived there the restaurant was closed!
i can't believe that the bostonian hotel is affiliated with such a horrible restaurant with lousy service and staff. our experience was beyond disappointing. we ordered 2 bowls of chowder, chicken wings and cauliflower something or other from the appetizer menu.
my husband wanted an alcoholic beverage/beer and they were conveniently out off everything non alcoholic.
the wings and cauliflower dish came out in about 15 minutes and we dug in, knowing we had chowder coming. then our waitress disappeared.
i left my seat on numerous occasions to seek out our waitress and was greeted with a sigh, not a good sign since i was the customer.
we never received our chowder and didn't inquire about it as we were rallying to get out of there at this point to get to a show at td garden. we received the bill and the TIP section was circled with a pen, upon further inspection, 20% tip was already added!
it appeared that i should tip them additionally because of the circle on the tip section (offensive) which i did not. had tip not been added, i would have chosen a 10% tip due to the service we received.
if you choose to dine at this restaurant, please be advised that that the service is below par and the food matches the service!

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I stayed at the hotel for a night and spent some time in the restaurant. The food and drink were avarage, nothing special. The server had a very dry personality, which kind of made me feel like he did not want to do the job. He was not too friendly, nor was he too professional. I dont mind paying for quality food and atmosphere, but this place did not have any of those and was unreasonable expensive. There are many restaurants in this area that offer better food and service.

Decent food. Value. But why is 20% already added to the bill and then the receipt asks if you want to add an additional tip. What?
A simple cafe or diner experience. We were the only patrons for lunch!! I was expecting a more upscale restaurant. The bar tender was our server and the service was poor. Food was not that great. Would not go again
I enjoy soup pften and my favorite is clam chowder. I had it last night and it was honestly the best I have ever had. My girlfriend each had a bowel. The bowel size was larger than I expected. The amount of clams it was stuffed it was the most I have ever had. I finished my bowel and about a third of hers she couldn't finished. It was so good I went back again today for another bowel. I never leave food reviews but I felt I had to for this place. If you like clam chowder and you are in Boston. I suggest you give it a try. It's right across the street from the market.
