My daughter wanted a "Pokémon and cheetah-themed" birthday and Oakleaf created the cake of her dreams! They were easy to work with and helped turn our scattered ideas into a beautiful custom cake. The cake looked and (most importantly) tasted amazing. We got a rainbow interior with chocolate frosting. They also made custom cookies with Pokémon and cheetahs to go with the theme. Highly recommended for their professionalism and artistry on custom cakes and cookies!

Unfortunately, we had a less than stellar experience at Oakleaf on Friday March 15th. My granddaughters and I ordered hot chocolate, one peppermint and one regular for the younger one. When they arrived, our younger granddaughter tasted hers and said it tasted salty and she didn't like it. We were in a hurry, and I was unable to taste it before we left, but I spoke to the clerk and she made it sound like my granddaughter just didn't like their "special" mix and it wasn't the bakery's fault. She was quite dismissive. We added about 2 teaspoons of sugar to it and left. When I tasted her hot chocolate in the car, it was indeed salty -- both grandparents tasted it, and also her older sister, and it WAS salty and barely sweet (probably from the sugar we added). It's disappointing that your clerk assumed it was the child's fault, when it absolutely was the bakery's fault. I'm sorry I added a tip. We will not be returning.

Oakleaf is phenomenal. I ordered my daughter’s 1st birthday cake from Oakleaf. She loved snakes so I requested a very specific design, with one vanilla cake tier with strawberry frosting and one chocolate cake tier with raspberry frosting. We were not disappointed!! The design was unreal- precise, beautiful and tasteful. The flavors were on point- we preferred the vanilla cake with strawberry frosting but they were both good. This was the second custom cake we have ordered from this bakery, and both times the decoration and service were absolutely flawless!We also got the strawberry and crème brûlée pop tarts, as well as the homemade marshmallows, and everything was excellent!

I was visiting friends in Boston for my birthday and ordered a heart cake for the same day as the party. The cake was beautiful; however, this is the worst tasting cake I’ve ever had. I got red velvet and the cake should’ve been fresh. It was so dry it was inedible and tasted like it could be stale or made like a week prior. The icing was also disgusting. I’m really sad and disappointed because I’ve heard really good things about this bakery. The cake was beautiful but it was so bad. :( wouldn’t order from here again sadly.

Pros:I had their lemon cupcake with soft lemon frosting, and It was so good!!!I have had a red velvet that was stale.Before you order, ask them if the cupcakes or other baked goods were made the sane day.Cons:1.) I wish they had a way to know which cupcakes they are serving each day because they don't have a wide selection.2.) They never pick up their phone, so you don't know which bakery items they have available.3.) I went there on 3 different occasion and they ran out of cupcakes.I wasted my gas and time. Had they picked up their phone, I would have known that.4.) Please pick up your phone, so customers can know what's available before they come.5.) Clean the glass that you have the cupcakes it.6,) Sweep the floor more often, everytime I go there its dirty and the place is small so I'm suprised it looks that way and have someone in place to wipe down the tables and chairs.7.) The college kids take over the cafe, so you dont have a place to sit and enjoy your coffee or bakery item. They dont want to share a table either.8) The price of a cupecake is $4.50.

I ordered the pre-designed strawberry fields cake (yellow cake with strawberry meringue buttercream), and was vastly disappointed.The cake was tasteless and dry. The buttercream was overly rich and overwhelmed the cake. Everyone struggled to finish their slice.Because I didn't want to waste money, I thought I'll just slowly finish the cake over the next week in even smaller slices, but ultimately I decided to just give up on it. No one else enjoyed the cake, and everyone convinced me to just throw it out.

This beautiful cake was such a disappointment. It was $70 and big enough for about 10 people. We followed the instructions and let it sit at room temperature for 4 hours. nonetheless the cake was very dry and the frosting was greasy. We will not order from this bakery ever again.
