A-MAZ-ING!!! The setting - stunning and comfortable. The staff - knowledgeable and friendly - perfectly attentive. And the FOOD- O-M-G!!! Everything - exceptional. Mind blowingly exceptional. I have probably talking to more people about the ceasar salad in the last day than I have talked about any meal ever. Flat out flavor bomb. I don’t know how they did it - and I love to deconstruct what I eat and try and recreate. I’m this circumstance - I’m fine with not knowing and just enjoying the experience. And osso buco marinara?!? Mind blown….. if you are a foodie (and based on some of the a-hole reviews - some obviously aren’t) you HAVE to check this place out. We will be back - from CT - just for dinner- well worth the trip.
I was so looking forward to this meal. I'd become a fan of Tiffani Faison from watching her in cooking competitions, so when I was going to be in Boston for my birthday, I chose to celebrate at Orfano. The service was decent, but aside from the meatballs, the food was a huge disappointment. The meatballs were tender and flavorful, but only three come in the order. The garlic bread was cheesy, but not at all garlicky. We ordered the osso buco and lobster bucatini. The osso buco was overdone and tough. The bucatini was limp like pasta out of a can, and the sauce was bland. Giving two stars for the meatballs. Wish I'd gone to the North End instead.
My family and I had such an amazing time at Orfano the other night for my birthday dinner. The Orfano team took such good care of us and we had a really delicious meal. We loved every plate: the garlic bread, the giant mozzarella stick, lobster bucatini, and rigatoni bolognese. The chicken parm was so large it covered the plate! The wine was also exceptional. Would definitely return in the future!
I've never been to a place where I was both over-served and under-served. There were at least 5 people constantly hovering around my wife and I the whole time. This was supposed to be an intimate valentines day dinner and we barely had time to talk just the two of us. That is until our meal was finished and we ordered cocktails and dessert to go. We waited about 20 minutes for our drinks to come out. We were ready to leave at that point so we thought we would just cancel the drinks and get the dessert. Not a big deal. A manager had to come over to confirm our drink cancellation which was weird. It then took another 20 minutes to get our to go dessert. At that time over half our meal time was just waiting around to leave. Food was 3 stars maybe. Fried ravioli you could buy at the supermarket and fry yourself just as good, almost no ricotta in there. Clams were not properly shucked but were fresh. Osso Buco was fine but slightly metallic tasting. Rigatoni was very gummy. Tiramisu was not great. My wife said her deconstructed cannoli had no flavor at all. Looking for a last minute reservation for a make up valentines dinner for tonight.
This is hands down the best restaurant in Boston. Amazing pasta, incredible atmosphere. Everything is perfection. This is my first review ever and tbh thjs place deserves it. Don’t walk, run.
Loud cramped and way over priced . The food was boring and small plates tiny salad and you pay for extra for everything. Then our bill had a 5% kitchen charge that I didn't know about until the bill came.I wouldn't mind that if I didn't pay so much for everything else like $18 for a ok drink. Davio's is much much much better. So disappointed. This owner is all over TV and puts this out ouch!!
We had a group dinner focused on truffles that took some advance coordination with the chef. The quality of the food was outstanding with some really interesting creative combinations. The service was excellent although a little slow as our meal took a solid 4 hours. Nevertheless it was worth it. From the starters to the pasta to the main entrees, each dish was elegantly presented and a harmonious infusion of flavors. We might have been given special treatment (relative to other clients) given our advance planning but the end result was impressive.
Great service, hip Italian eatery. Will love to eat there again when they open back up
We made reservations for this restaurant and open table confirmed via email and text. When we arrived, Orfano had been closed, and will not open until April. We had no indication that this was the case. Restaurant website also made no Indication of closure. PLEASE REMOVE THIS RESTAURANT FROM YOUR OPTIONS! Great disappointment as we had few options to go elsewhere once we arrived.
Made a reservation for my friend's birthday. When I arrived I learned that the restaurant had closed a week ago! They just never let anyone know who had reservations? The person working there just said: “sorry, not my fault.” Very disappointed. I know it's a tough time for restaurants but they should have notified people with reservations.

Massive portions of good food at city-level prices.
Great service- Covid prevention intact. Noise unavoidable due to traffic with outdoor seating.
We had a lovely time at Orfano. The lower scores for ambiance and noise of due to the fact that we ate outside and it was a windy night. The inside of the restaurant looked amazing and I can't wait to go back in better times.

Considering the pandemic, we were so grateful to be out eating in a restaurant and Orfano did not disappoint!! Everything was perfect except maybe the martini cart! I imagine most martini drinkers do not want an 1/1 gin/vermouth mix. Everyone knows a bottle of Dolin is $10 so to use that much is just a cheap glass filler at $28/ drink. The chef can spin it however she likes but she's not fooling anyone! I am always very specific with my request for very little vermouth and they did oblige with a 2/1 ratio. Martini aside, our server was fantastic, the Italian wines were fantastic and the food was beyond fantastic!! Everything was so tasty and served piping hot! The Italian sausage lasagna was a nice twist, the pasta was cooked perfectly and the salmon was crispy and amazing. Cannot wait to go back. Such a shame they will be hibernating for the winter.
